You dont know what you are talking about. cpu bottleneck is only visible on low resolutions, where the videocards can process the highest output. Put it all on the highest graphics and the videocard becomes the bottleneck, a faster cpu doesn't help there. Look it up, such tests only show major results on 1024x768. When they test on cpu bottleneck on 1680 or even 1920x1080 / 1200, the bottleneck is maybe 1-3 fps or less. But everyone thinks they are right, from their perspective

It varies but most E8xxx clock very good. Depends on CPU cooler use (temp), motherboard (which bios etc) and the cpu itself (some clock better, even if they are both the same model) and ram. Good luck with it :)

i really don't see much of a difference in gaming experience between and duo and a quad since i've tried both of em out. but im a multitasker and like to listen to lots of music and download vids while gaming so quad is for me i guess but duo probably outperforms at a higher clockrate but you can't multitask

Well the fact that most games don't even make use of 2 cores fully means you do not need a quadcore for multitasking while gaming. (Kinda weird anyway). I download HD-movies with usenet while listening to music and having explorer on my second monitor while playing Crysis Warhead.. An example, I can do as much as most people can with quads. Only professional rendering and programs like photoshop and videoencoding has profit from a quad. Multitasking like you do has nothing to do with it.

ive seen it before, ill explain how a quad works compared to a dual, ive had multiple types of chips, e8400,e8500,q6600,q6700,qx9770­, and now a core i7 956. ive benchmarked them all, with super pi, prime 95 and many others, with the quads(since they are 2 dual cores), the load is distributed, sometimes unevenly, ive run crysis maxed out dx10 and patch, with full load on each core with two 260core216's sli and just a q6600 and averaged 50fps, on my gaming rig its even higher.

Prime 95 and superpi only utilize 1 core. So what you are saying doesn't make any sense. The crysis explanation doesn't prove anything either. I've talked to some guys that I know that really owned alot of hardware. Maxishine and R34PER both conclude that a quadcore doesn't add anything to GAMING experience. It might do it for other apps, like rendering with Maya or 3dsmax. You are just selling plain crap here.

Now with the e8200 i got less 3dmark points but better gameplay.

Changed my psu from coprsair 520 watt to cooler master real power 620 watt no difference.

It is always below 37 degrees, when it rises above the sensor counts up. Atleast one core's sensor always works, my idle temp is around 26-28 degrees celcius. Go ahead and buy a Q9650 which is basically 2 wolfdales sticked together. Games don't even use 4 cores so I don't have a need to buy it. If you wanna be Mr. Expensive go ahead :D

It's true, it's not good to be running your psu at high load all the time, it's gonna take away from it's lifespan, or theirs other things like it overheating, or it could die and take the rest of your system with it, always a possibility. The power supply is the most important part in your pc, if you buy a top notch rig and a low end, crappy brand power supply, then the outcome isn't good.

get an x48 board, not x38, or you will experience stuttering. this is because x38 runs at x8 and x16, rather than x16 x16, which means the bandwidths get this weird microstutter effect. other than that, if you can live with microstutter, x38 is fine
