@OMNJ1316 It was in the commentary of the movie. Kevin Kline (The voice of Phoebus) thought the horse needed a name. The creators thought it would be funny if it was Achilles, because then Phoebus could say "Achilles heel."

It probably wasn't love at first sight for either, he just found her incredibly attractive (damn that grin is sexy!) and I think that part of the film I really admire.

Phoebus is just hilarious, dry wit and a somewhat hardened personality, definitely my dream disney hero, swoon. This is definitely my favourite disney film. You can connect with it on so many levels.

I also love how Achilles keeps giving him mocking looks, like he's saying, "Oh, you are /such/ an idiot."

You know what, Phoebus needs a song. He's the only major character who doesn't have a song. What are his desires? His needs? His goals? We have no idea, because he doesn't have a song. That is the central flaw in this movie. Phoebus's character isn't well developed enough, as snarky and clever as he is. He needs a song. (In the German musical Der Glockner von Notre Dame, he has several.)
