Can't help getting goosebumps every time. Too incredible for words. Ira literally just makes love to his guitar for all to see and hear, and it's just incredible and so appropriate for the song's title. This is the most beautiful kind of music....
every time i listen this song i break down and cry. it's like their loving what their doing... they're the anti-rock pose band and they're full of rock...
Saw them perform this song in Brooklyn last night. Looked exactly the same, including the keyboard player. I love that these guys just never ever change. I hope they never do. <3 <3 <3
I witnessed YLT perform something like a 12-minute version of this song this summer in Somerset, England. It was my best live music experience so far.
I guess it amazes even more just how many tone deaf morons actually deify talentless cacophonous out-of-tune garbage like this. It's so true: simple minds; simple pleasures.
Great song. They were just amazing in the early to mid 90s. They are still amazing now, but this was their peak. I have seen them many times and this song, Stockholm Syndrome, Motel 6, Blue Line Swinger and We're an American Band are some of the greatest live songs ever. It is great seeing Ira spaz out when he solos also.
One of my fav Yo La Tengo songs, perhaps fav songs ever...love it, worship it. Can you worship sound, sonics? Maybe you can. I love that this song SOARS in it's loud glory, loud yet textured. How often can that pull pulled off...a song blasting from the amps, yet punctured with subtle touches to give it progression, dramatic arc? Damn rare, I say. That it is an instrumental is even more brilliant. That way you can apply your own narrative, your own feelings and life to it as you SOAR!
Killer ending for a gorgeous album. Painful is their best album, in my opinion.

You guys did the Satellite Lounge in Houston. I was there in front. I opened the back door but was too shy to speak. You are awesome.

Actually this is a Yo La Tengo song, though the Teenage Fanclub version is nice.

Paul, my dream is to see a Maxwell's show, too. I wonder if the tickets are impossible to get.
