I followed your steps on the conversion and i think i may have done someting wrong my bolt hold lever the pice at 4:43 on the video seems to hold my bolt after every shot. i noticed that when i squiz the trigger the buttion goes in. any sugestions? and is it nessisary for me to have the bolt hold lever can i just take it out?
@miahhhhh49 You can ditch the bolt hold lever if it is giving you trouble. The likely cause of your problem is probably that the little spring that is shown being installed with the "needle nose pliers" either missed the tab on the bolt hold open, or that the pin doesn't go through the hole in the spring.
@icefaceish... Agreed. I would get the non converted.. If you buy the converted rifle and then decide you want different furniture on it, you change it anyway. Might as well jus build it yourself that's what I think and I'm doing..
I see on impact guns I can get a non converted saiga for a little over $400 would it make more sense to spend another $100 to buy on that already has been converted? Im not sure how much than spend about 200 or so on the Magpul kit for example since I personally wouldnt want tapco/
@icefaceish If it were me I would get the non-converted, then get the Magpul setup and do the conversion. If your cool with a fixed stock, go with the converted one. Ultimately either way is a good choice. Impact usually has good prices.
Hello, Good Video. Note: An easy way to install the bolt hold open and spring is to install the spring on the trigger pin (without the BHO in place) push the trigger pin all the way through the gun. THEN drop the BHO on top and use pliers to lift the spring onto the BHO. This makes it much easier to do. Take care and thanks.
Just wanted to say great tutorial and quality of video. I have a problem question Im hoping you might be able to help me with. I purchased the tapco g2 single hook trigger assembly for my saiga conversion and realized unlike in your vid my trigger and disconnector as a very bad bind issue that when the sleeve is put threw the disconnector spring doesnt work the trigger and disconnector as freely as the one in your tutorial is this normal.
@eddiekern Thanks for the reply. I tried doing that but was unsure how the rifle would react if the connector was binding and living in California I didnt want to go home in cuffs just in case my saiga decided to auto tap, so I decided to call my local gunsmiths and they told me to call tapco and have the disconnector/hammer assembly sent back and Im glad I did cause the new one works like budda. Thanks again.
Why did you have to change out the trigger guard? Only ask as I want to change mine out as well, but have not had anyone say I need a new trigger guard and it does not come with the G-2 trigger kit that I have seen.
The Old trigger guard is attached to the base plate that is removed. It is welded to the baseplate and does not have screw holes to be moved. So as far as I am aware, you will need a new trigger guard.
@MPKS92 No need for a new trigger guard. If you continue to drill at the rivets mentioned the trigger guard itself comes off of that plate. You do need to trim the existing trigger guard to make it fit correctly. The other thing you have to do when reusing the existing guard, is drill a hole under your mag release to fasten the front hole of the trigger guard. The guard he is using here costs $40 when purchased alone but doesn't require extra drilling or a pistol grip nut to fasten the grip.
@jamiem753 Wrong again. It's called a Special Operators Tax. Look it up. Class TWO dealers build them and may poses one in their shop for demonstration purposes. Class 3 dealers can only obtain them in the first place if there is a demand for them.

@xlmillarlx If it works when you put it together, then you'll be fine. If not contact Tapco.

Aren't trigger assemblies enough for 922r compliance?
DanTheVikingr 5 months ago
@DanTheVikingr Usually you need to replace 4 parts, and the trigger group only counts as 3. Add a U.S. buttstock, and you should be fine.
