I Remember Seeing This Trailer When I Was Younger for the first time and i just HAD TO GET IT, this game looked IMMENSE and i just had to get it, ever since i played this game, i have been an avid MGS Fanboy
MG 1-2 and MGS 1 had a cool edgy sci-fi look and feel that was lost in mgs 2-4. The acid series (even though the gameplay sucked) had that look and feel... I wished after plaing acid 1 that Kojima would let the guy who directed it take over but alas, the general public forced him to keep going, that is why MGS 4 is the way it is... bittersweet becasue Kojima never wanted to make it.
@playram1 I don't mind teh graphics engine... it's beautiful, but the art direction is severly lacking in metal gear feel. I grew up playing MGS 1 and as soon as I found aout about the MSX games I bought one and played fan translated (illegally modded) versions on it. then MGS 2 came along and I was like "this doesn't feel like Metal Gear." and it's been that way since.
If you buy the essential pack online @ Amazon U get MGS1-3. Or u can Jus get 1 by itself on Amazon but last I looked it was mo xpensive than the 3 combined! I got the essential pack 4 20$ N it was a unused version. MGS BEST VIDEO GAMES EVER!

MGS:Rising is going to be a shitty "sequel" featuring Raiden for sad Xbots. Peace Walker is going to be a real deal... although its only made for PSP to boost PSP sales.
I just finished MGS1 first time. First MGS i've ever played. I have to say: amazing game. I already ordered 2. and 3. ones :) Can't understand why didn't i play these before.

this prototype version seems like something i would love to try and dig up, i can see snakes doing his punch punch kick from MGS2, i remember getting gameshark for infinite C4 to see if i can get that many C4 around the outside. i was wrong :/

it's the beta of Metal Gear Solid ( first MGS ) of course the graphics are lame but in it's time it was wonderful, one of a kind. And I ain't dissing all the consoles ( even though I don't have any except all the PS series )

I already knew it was coming to PS3, but the fact that it was coming on 360 meant they HAD to tone down the stealth and make it more Actiony. I don't hate it cos it's ON 360, just that they're changing it because of that.
