@xxxH22VTECxxx this car may only have 150hp or so but because of the rotary it makes power 3 times as fast/much as a piston and that is why they keep up with stuff that have up to 200hp+ more then them :)

The engine isn't cold , the normal operating temperature is only 1/4 way up on the stock gauge...i know it seems odd but if you were up to 1/2 way or 3/4 your car would actually be considered to be overheating or running on the hot side...running at where it is you can see the temp gauge is at 185 or so at end of the video...and the temp gauge on the stock gauges hasn't moved...
I dunno if it matters but my stock turbo FC will rev out too 9000rpm then the limiter will kick in...it will go more if it had no limiter but i wouldnt risk it
I am a chevy guy. I love the RX7s though. Ever since i owned one. I would never put a 350 in one unless i just didn't have the time or money to build/buy a new rotary and i had a 350 sitting around doing nothing. It changes the whole dynamic of the car. Its one of the major issues with american muscle. All that weight throws the cat like reflexes of the rx7 off quite a bit. Changing it from a nimble drift king to a brutish snow plow. The drive was half the experience for me.
Close but no, about 100-150 off when swapped, still EXTREAMLY light for a piston type engine though. They make the closest to original weight for a swap.

yes hash the s4 2nd gens came with a tach that only went to 8000rpm then after the 10th anny they started the s5s (your 91 fc) and they switched the tailights from the compunds to the circle lights which im sure you love, and also the trim was painted the same color as the car, annnd they came with a tach that redlined at 8-9000rpm.
Nah, he's saying it should've been warmed up to full temp first, otherwise it doesn't have proper lubrication on the apex seals and puts extra wear and tear on the engine.

Once my car is back on the road again, I'm going to make a video of me redlining this thing all the way to the rev-limit...hitting the rev limit really helps your potential acceleration into the next gear.
Just put the stereo all the way up , blast some good rock music and it will blend right in with everything else.
I think of the buzzer going off more of for noobs who would leave the car in gear and not upshift , screw up the engine/tranny and possibly overheat the motor.
Redlining in low gears is pretty easy to do in any car , especially a rotary...if i had no rev limit, i bet i could hit 8500rpm in this thing, if something didn't decide to break.
rotaries can do 10grand no problems my mates can do 13grand and that is a stock 13b 82 rx7, but some ppl like the buzzer and some ppl dont. Me I hate them so I would take it out but that is my opinion.
And if your buddy is really doing 10-13k in his stock rx7, i sincerely hope he likes rebuilding engines, cuz he's going to do it a lot.
Stationary gears start cracking at 9k. Around that point the e-shaft starts to flex also and then you have all sorts of fun things happening. Ever seen a snapped e-shaft? not pretty.
dude seriously ihave had heaps of rotarys r100s rx2s rx3s and rx7s some of which had street porting i can tell you from your video and the way your engine is reving its basically standard a good street port will easily rev to 8 grand and yours is struggling at 7
my engine was ported by kevin landers, if its not sounding like its running clean and pushing hard its because the engine rebuild isnt pushing high compression or because i have some kind of tuning issue, my car has only 15,000 miles on it theres no reason for it to be struggling
lately its been running weird when i hit the gas fast then let off, and romp hard on it again (like in neutral) it will bog... i think whatever is causing the problem could also be causing me to lose power
the motor is running at 175+ degrees and full running temp on 86-88 is exactly where my temp is sitting, so stfu and don't speak when you don't know wtf you're talking about

i dont have a srt4 btw dumbass its a neon. thats right, the chick car. bring what u got, like i said, u wont win. camaros arent heavy either shithead. maybe if you compare it to a compact. but mine weighs close to 3000lbs. it has a 383 stroker that runs mid 11's on pump gas. i have a long way to go on both cars. the camaro is due for a built 406 smallblock, and the neon is gettin its long awaited turbo this summer. what do you drive? a probe? rx7's are shit. prove me wrong.

lol I'm not getting into the middle of this, but is this a debate between a suped up camaro vs a stock rx7? That is not even close to being equal. Going from 383 to a 406 IMO is just wasted money since you wont get any more useful power, maybe torque but not anything big at all. You have you're own favorite car and so does he, you both have no right to hate either one of your cars.
That said, both engines have their perks, none of them better then the other, you BOTH know that.

S4 NA 86-88 Rx7s starts at 7k ends at 8k (8k is what the limiter is at)
s5 89-91 NA , redline starts at 8k ends at 8500 rpm, i believe, it may be 8600 rpm

You only lose the 10 hp below 4000rpm, however above 4000rpm and to the rev limit you will gain at least 10 hp if not more depending on mods.

yes hash the s4 2nd gens came with a tach that only went to 8000rpm then after the 10th anny they started the s5s (your 91 fc) and they switched the tailights from the compunds to the circle lights which im sure you love, and also the trim was painted the same color as the car, annnd they came with a tach that redlined at 8-9000rpm.

Nah, he's saying it should've been warmed up to full temp first, otherwise it doesn't have proper lubrication on the apex seals and puts extra wear and tear on the engine.

Just put the stereo all the way up , blast some good rock music and it will blend right in with everything else.
I think of the buzzer going off more of for noobs who would leave the car in gear and not upshift , screw up the engine/tranny and possibly overheat the motor.
Redlining in low gears is pretty easy to do in any car , especially a rotary...if i had no rev limit, i bet i could hit 8500rpm in this thing, if something didn't decide to break.

rotaries can do 10grand no problems my mates can do 13grand and that is a stock 13b 82 rx7, but some ppl like the buzzer and some ppl dont. Me I hate them so I would take it out but that is my opinion.

Stationary gears start cracking at 9k. Around that point the e-shaft starts to flex also and then you have all sorts of fun things happening. Ever seen a snapped e-shaft? not pretty.

my engine was ported by kevin landers, if its not sounding like its running clean and pushing hard its because the engine rebuild isnt pushing high compression or because i have some kind of tuning issue, my car has only 15,000 miles on it theres no reason for it to be struggling
lately its been running weird when i hit the gas fast then let off, and romp hard on it again (like in neutral) it will bog... i think whatever is causing the problem could also be causing me to lose power
