  • Which microphone did you use? Good playing ,well done.

  • you are playing very nice! I like your power!

  • @dhgcello0215 haha, right. especially his cellos are usually in really good condition (i played one for a while)

  • The way the violins are stored on the side reminds me of the wand shop in Harry Potter.

  • Random but what mic did you use to record this. The sound quality is amazing. The best way to hear such a wonderful violin played by a very talented individual. :D

  • Why do vuillaume's always look like they're in perfect, beautiful condition?

  • great sound! I would like to play a violin!

  • woooooooooooooooooooooow

  • Woooow I so want to do that!!

  • You're standing in Peter Prier's violin shop in Salt Lake City, aren't you? Haha recognized the place immediately.

  • i have a very old one with the serial number 1063 any hints of when it was made please let me know

  • this Peter Priers in SLC Utah if I'm not mistaken! :) i live by there and go there a lot. . . in fact. . . do beleive I have played this violin before :) I played Mendelssohn on it! and also Bach Chacconne. . . great violin

  • where is this shop located?

  • @kingkong326 I think it's PETER PRIER AND SONS in Salt Lake City Utah

  • LOve you!!!! Holy cow poop!!! what kind of job do you have?

  • Just another example that it is not the violin but the violinist that makes beautiful sound.

  • Congratulations and excellent:

however, try to keep MOST all of this in complete tempo. Otherwise, it sounds like a gypsy violinist. Perlman, Schlomo Mintz, Michael Rabin, and before them, Mr Gingold all did performances of this where, unless it is a cadenza, they kept it in tempo for the orchestra. Pick a tempo and stick with it so it has a pace, and you'll discover that you have a totally different interpretation inside you.

Good luck: you work very hard and it shows.

  • thanks you ! :-)

  • what is this piece ?

  • Wieniawski Violin Concerto No.1

It was in my videos also

  • Thanks for the exploring the range of the instrument. Nice.

  • wow! nice sound!

  • wow incredible violin! how much does this cost (150k-200k im guessing)

  • Damn! That's a hell of a Vuillaume!!!! Can I buy it?

  • That Vuillaume is selling at Peter Prier Violins. I don't know if your question is rhetorical or literal. I saw it a few months ago and it is still for sale.

I am playing on a Vuillaume del Gesu copy which I bought last year and it is much better for my style. Are you a Strad person or a del Gesu person ? Be sure you love the fiddle first because it's a lot of money, but that fiddle does sound well.

    Good luck.

  • Thnks for your reply; I'm actually a Del Gesu guy. Just love Stern's Ysaye Guarnery. A very special violin is the Vuillaume Hillary Hahn plays, which is I believe an Il Canone copy...

  • Hillary's violin is not a copy of Il Canonne. Most of Vuillaume copies of Il Cannone come from earlier, when he had the fiddle in his shop and Paganini was alive. The latest copy I ever saw dated from 1850. In the late 1850's, he stopped antiquing the fiddles. Her violin comes from around 1864 or so. The model is closely related to example No.5 found in the Greiner/Thone book, minus the antiquing. With those f-holes, it's a copy of a 1743 or 1744. Mine is an earlier example of the same model !

  • @DickTheFiddler Hilary's violin is a copy of the Il Canonne.

  • I know what you mean, I went to New York last summer just to visit Rene Morel, J.A. Beare, and Christopher landon, felt like a kid in a Candy store. I tried a cuypers selling for 130K, I almost went deaf trying that violin. as a fiddle head, your vids make me drool, can't wait for another big name fiddle!

  • Cuypers sell at 65K. They were asking double price. Shame !

  • @_@ My dream to try these combination.

Tried a US$40k bow in before, still cannot forget the feel :)
