Random but what mic did you use to record this. The sound quality is amazing. The best way to hear such a wonderful violin played by a very talented individual. :D

however, try to keep MOST all of this in complete tempo. Otherwise, it sounds like a gypsy violinist. Perlman, Schlomo Mintz, Michael Rabin, and before them, Mr Gingold all did performances of this where, unless it is a cadenza, they kept it in tempo for the orchestra. Pick a tempo and stick with it so it has a pace, and you'll discover that you have a totally different interpretation inside you.
That Vuillaume is selling at Peter Prier Violins. I don't know if your question is rhetorical or literal. I saw it a few months ago and it is still for sale.
I am playing on a Vuillaume del Gesu copy which I bought last year and it is much better for my style. Are you a Strad person or a del Gesu person ? Be sure you love the fiddle first because it's a lot of money, but that fiddle does sound well.
Thnks for your reply; I'm actually a Del Gesu guy. Just love Stern's Ysaye Guarnery. A very special violin is the Vuillaume Hillary Hahn plays, which is I believe an Il Canone copy...
Hillary's violin is not a copy of Il Canonne. Most of Vuillaume copies of Il Cannone come from earlier, when he had the fiddle in his shop and Paganini was alive. The latest copy I ever saw dated from 1850. In the late 1850's, he stopped antiquing the fiddles. Her violin comes from around 1864 or so. The model is closely related to example No.5 found in the Greiner/Thone book, minus the antiquing. With those f-holes, it's a copy of a 1743 or 1744. Mine is an earlier example of the same model !
I know what you mean, I went to New York last summer just to visit Rene Morel, J.A. Beare, and Christopher landon, felt like a kid in a Candy store. I tried a cuypers selling for 130K, I almost went deaf trying that violin. as a fiddle head, your vids make me drool, can't wait for another big name fiddle!
Which microphone did you use? Good playing ,well done.

The way the violins are stored on the side reminds me of the wand shop in Harry Potter.
