Michael Keashammer is extremely talented. What he does on piano is absolutely amazing. To be able to do all the piano parts plus sing is very rare. Piano is a highly underrated instrument. It is soooo hard to play, and here he is singing on top of playing two parts. It's like playing three instruments at the same time. Awesome...awesome.. awesome. I've seen him live and shook his hand. He has large mitts!
@Yekkite That's exactly what I was thinking when I saw him live tonight! He completely blew my eyeballs out; how the hell do you even hold a 2.5 hour concert with no sheet music whatsoever?! He definitely needs to become more famous ASAP. 8D
Okay, yes, skillful piano playing. To the question why this guy isn`t more famous. I think it`s because he sings with a German accent, which puts any English or American right off.
Michael Kaeshammer recently talked to us about his upcoming performance at Massey Hall for our 2010|11 Season video, if you're interested in checking it out!
I was blessed to see all three of them (Michael Kaeshammer, Mark Rogers, Mark McLean) perform live on stage tonight in Wiesbaden/Germany - great show!!! thanks, guys! =)
Jesus, I still can't grasp how he can have such a powerful and steady rythm in his left hand, it's ridiculous. It was a pleasure to see him play this in the opening ceremonies for the Vancouver Paralympics 2010.
Knocked us all out last night at National Arts Club NYC. Incredible talent. Although excellent, video does not do justice to the live performance. Definitely will attend all future NY & vicinity gigs.
Took my 13yo granddaughter to see him in Victoria. One of the highlights of my old life! Her response reminded me of seeing Elvis for the first time when I was 11...Oh, my. 'nuf said;)
Fantastic song. First saw MK in Lansing, MI at a jazz festival. I don't have this album yet (I have all the others) but I'm gonna go order it right now. :-)
Michael Kaeshammer has a tremendous amount of skill being able to keep his left and right hand together. I've been playing for 8 years and I just really started playing jazz, I personally think that is the hardest component of this style of playing!
I've followed Michael for years - since I saw him first at the Chilliwack Jazz Fest in '98! He generously performed a year or two later for a fundraiser for our non-profit group and it was a stellar show :)
Michael, I think you're a fabulous and skilled musician and I am enjoying watching you develop all the aspects of your art. Thanks for yet another wonderful album!

To have this hack playing in the Glenn Gould Studio is a instult to Mr. Gould's legacy. A 100 years from now, the world will still celebrate Gould's genius and it will be saying "Michael who?"

He's playing at a local free concert series tonight. I'm pleasantly surprised! They usually bring in sucky bands, but this guy seems pretty awesome.
