@elemix27 thats not true if the laser fails to read the game while its loading it will still give an unrecognized disc error. I install games I play online like MW3 and ever since I got the open tray problem it cycles between the unrecognized disc and this disc is unreadable messages when it isnt open tray. Microsoft sucks my Sega Dreamcast still works without problems and its over a decade old, they have cheap manufacturing that seems intentional and profit driven.

Also if you install your game to your hard drive then once it reads it won't give you an "Unreadable Disc" error once it starts becaause of it being installed to the hard drive.

LMAO, not sure it will work for all disc errors but mine was doing the same as in the vid, open try, open tray, etc,etc,etc... Tilt it back away she goes, didn't work 1st go but since its been taking upto an hour to get it going....yipeee...

PS i opened the draw on tilt and then closed it and it worked.....

this worked for me, but to permanently fix the issue u need to follow these steps. 1. turn on the system. 2. once it says "open tray" open the tray then close it. 3. when its reading it, turn the xbox the way the guy in the video did. this should read the game. 4. once it has read what game it is, press "Y" on thee controller then go to "install to hardrive". (do this all whilst, still holding the xbox at the same angle as before) 5. wait for it to complete whilst holding the xbox at the angle.

in stead of having to keep the games you have. sell them after doing this: put game in. when it shows picture on the dashboard press why and install. this could take a while and then make sure you have no problems with the disc at all before you imstall it. then you can finally sell the games.

I had this once, I restarted my Xbox 360 and it can read discs again.

this works. but it only worked because i titled my xbox back so far that it was churning up my xbox disc. in doing so a positive thing came out of this. My xbox could now read all xbox disc.

So if you decide to follow what i did .

Make sure it churns up a Crap xbox game. unlike what happened to me and it churned up my gears of war 2 :')

i tilted it so the green light was facin the roof. And then i titled it back even further. But my doing this it sounded like my xbox was churning up my xbox game. so u took it out . and now it has some bad"perfect circle" a scratch that looks like it has being done with a compass. All round your xbox disc. So i then put the xbox back on the floor and found that it now read all disc . xDrizz

Putting your Xbox on the floor will overheat your console and cause permanent damage. It is because the xbox will heat up the carpet, which will not cool down, as a wood surface would.

you can try tapping the top of the xbox where the center of the disc should be a magnet should drop back into place your simply trying to get it back into the correct spot

be very careful! the scratches on your disc come from the laser lens scratching against it u can feel the motor spin if it is a motor problem and it should start the game, if not u can try tapping the top of the xbox where the center of the disc should be a magnet should drop back into place, if ur not comfortable with hitting ur box then u will have to get a bunch of small tools and void the warrenty so make sure thats time limits up too
