  • 6:30 I wish I could hear Mercyful Fate on the radio nowadays!

  • They show Headbanger's ball here in Finland on Tuesdays. Too bad they mainly shows Killswitch, Bullet and Hollywood Undead. It was great when they have those theme nights and Black Metal live shots. But know it just makes me sad when I hear from younger guys what they show on that show. And those good shows were only 3 or 4 years ago. Still Mercyful Fate and King Diamond are amazing.

  • I GOT TO SEE HIM IN 96 ON HALLOWEEN. CAUGHT THE DRUM STICK AFTER COME TO THE SABBATH AND THEY ENDED WITH HALLOWEEN. WAS AMAZING

  • "did you do any research for this story?"

    "wel yes...". continues story.

  • ricky ractman or however its spelled looks like he belongs in fucking new kids on the block

  • @MrHappyniceboy Yep.

  • Let's not forget the old ball at least in america was 80% hair metal. I remember waiting 3 hours just to see say Kreator's "Betrayer." Now it's the same thing except the screamo bands have replaced the hair metal. 20+ yrs and it's still 80% useless filler

  • @SuperGoof1234

Actually, with Adam Curry, they used to show only the cool shit like Slayer, Metallica, Anthrax,Prong, Gothic Slam,Overkill,etc... It was only when Rikki became host that they changed the format because he owned a club in LA that used to support all that shitty Glam Rock.

  • @MrHappyniceboy Yea, he's so gay!

  • Yes My friend those were the fucking good old days.

  • he should of been in full make up. >.>

  • i love how he said, Snowy Shaw from King Diamond, not snowey shaw from my other band or for my band, hah.

  • Jeg kan godt lide ham. Han er meget klog.

  • WTF he is a normal guy!?!?!?!?

  • @pipopower12 Well hes not exactly normal. He is pretty weird but hes not a freak or anything.

  • @pipopower12 No at all...hes a fucking awesome performer, music writer...and he is King Diamondo!!!

  • EEEEGYPTTT

  • in the shadows what a great fucking album

  • what is this guy talking about?!!?

Rock was not dead in 1995. The best fucking records of all time(in my opinion) was released around that time period! It is stronger now than ever.

  • Even though it was 1993 in this interview I would have to say I felt like people were trying to put rock to death during this time. I do agree with you that there were some great albums put out . I think the attitude was more about the attempt to put rock to death by the MTV generation .. @Hverglemer

  • @mrjcoolness

Yea i guess the "heavy metal" and "rock" thing was kinda low back then, but i was refering to the extreme metal genre that pretty much exploded during that time....but then again it was on an underground level and not as globally accepted as the heavy metal period...

  • I think this was actually 1993. They were putting together TSL at the time but it was a delayed release.

  • I miss the original Ball. Those were the days.

  • @DarkLordNick999

Indeed, Head Banger's Ball with Adam Curry was the best. Back in '88 I was recording the show when they aired the world premier of the video "Welcome Home". This was my introduction to King Diamond and a video I'll never forget.

  • @DarkLordNick999 Now there's That Metal Show. Ehh, I guess it's the best we have these days. I met Eddie Trunk at a book signing, he said he'd love to have a broader range of talent as guests on the show, but VH1 wants the show to appeal to a more general audience.

  • @DarkLordNick999 i used to stay up til like 1am to listen to metal, now its bubble gum pop scremo bullcrap!

  • awesome...Dimpetersen..you rock!

  • Great interview, thanks for the upload!
