Sinatra did South Of The Border, I Could Have Told You So, Don't Worry 'Bout Me and one other at the same time. Billy May was supposed to be the band but couldn't make it so the Capitol Studio B band immitated May. I was there.
@stageplays1 Were you there as a session musician or in some other official capacity? According to my research "South Of The Border" was recorded at the same time as "I Love You," "Don't Worry 'Bout Me," and "I've Got The World On A String." "I Could Have Told You" was not recorded until December 9, 1953, at the same session as "Young At Heart" and "Rain."
South Of The Border...to Lower California(Baja California),to Marias Islands(Tres Marias),to the Ciudad Porfirio Diaz(Piedras Negras),to Tepeyac(the Basilica de Santa Maria de Guadalupe)...

This isn't the arrangement featured in the "Kamp Krusty" episode. That one is credited to Gene Merlino.

@jimmuffinman According to Wikipedia the song was sung by another artist impersonating Frank Sinatra.

Beg to differ. That is a Billy May arrangement. Reed section gives it away.

@drbob456x James Kaplan in his biography of Sinatra talks about how Nelson Riddle had arranged this to sound exactly like Billy May.

Good old Frank sounds like a real Mexican in this one! All he needs is an old baseball cap and a leafblower on his back and he'd be all set.
