@sirshitsalot007 Soilwork broke into the metal scene BIG in gothenburg in the early 2000's at the same time as In Flames. Stabbing the Drama was released in Feb 2005. Destiny's Child broke up at the end of a tour in September 2005. Beyonce had released 1 (one) solo album at this point in time. Unless you can draw some meaningful connection between this song and that album, STFU. Also: Rihanna's first album released in August of 2005. Learn 2 wikipedia before you make a dumb hypothesis.

Also, both of those ladies have a lot of the same music connections, so what you're probably hearing is a lack of creativity in the current hip-hip/R&B industry. This statement is simply my opinion however.

Its a subgenre of Heavy Metal yes but it's not the same. It comes down to where you restrict the line. You can put the restriction at rock n roll from the Beatles and Elvis years, as metal evolved from rock(As a harder material)

Heavy Metal today essentially is Iron Maiden et.c. Melodic DM has taken influence from these melodic new-wave bands but they are distinguished.

Iron maiden is different from Soilwork.

If you want we can restrict all music to the creations of neanderthalis 100k years ago
