I like the fact that he doesn't complicate his music by playing notes because it doesn't distract the audience from his real message, which is: "Hey everybody look at me, I'm a real live lasso-tossin', dust-coughin', hat-tippin' homo cowboy -- I don't need to learn how to play any notes; especially since my socio-political views are so profound." What bugs me is that sometimes I think his lyrics are a little bit too deep. I do worry about his music going mainstream and causing a third world war.
I love Ryan for his political commentary! Gems like "when it pours it rains" and "take me to France and watch me dance" are the kind of deep, poetic lines that people need to be listening to in order to get some good discussion going on in the USA!
