  • Respect to the British..

  • @rctsos So happy we went into ww2 on our own since we were no longer a part of Britain but our own country and we fought for our beliefs and our country.

  • french-canadians don't consider England the mother country. ignorant British assholes, unaware of Canada's 2 seperate cultures...

  • @popFORfresh The royal family learn the french language because of Canada's position in the commonwealth idiot.

  • Germany ftw!

  • Respect to the Canadians, Our Brothers and great Allies. We have fought with each other in our darkest and greatest moments, And we shall fight for each other untill the end. LONG LIVE THE Commonwealth, Long live the Queen, I am British i have never been to canada, But would be happy to risk my life to fight for our brothers and great Allies. We stand United.

  • eh...by "mother country" does he mean GB or France?

  • @harrison28514 well since they are Canadians... which was a member of the British Empire...

    ~Thanato

  • @rctsos u for got the king

  • Van Doos FTW !!!!

  • my grandpa was stationed in england during the battle of britain in the canadian airforce.Long live the commonwealth!

  • canadian soldiers look so fit back in those days.....

  • @tickle2012 you should see how fit some of them are now!

  • @rctsos You have to be kidding ...I say we rid ourselves to all ties of the sinking ship called Britian...they got voted offa this claim a long time ago and we dont need them in any way shape or form....

  • at 1:05 thats definetely maritime french, not quebec french. I can just tell. theres a difference.

  • Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it Captain Paul Triquet at 0:48? He commanded a company of the Royal 22e during the 1st Canadian Division’s advance on Ortona, Italy, in December 1943. For his gallantry in capturing and holding Casa Berardi against fierce and repeated counter attacks of the 90th Panzer Division he was awarded the Victoria Cross.

  • GOD BLESS CANADA!!!!

    GO CANADA!!!!

  • Van Doos ALL THE WAY

  • Im joining up with the Van Doos soon!

im soo happy, cant wait to go back to Québec !

  • pick a good regiment, the vandoos are so very stuck up, I work with them every day

  • they are stuck up for a reason, they are the forgotten regiment, all the glory goes to the english speaking regiments, its not there fault. But you must remember that they are proud to be fighting alonside the english!

  • do you actually know any Vandoos? because I live on CFB Valcartier and I can tell you the exact opposite is true, they definitely arent the forgotten regiment.

  • yes i do, my grandpa was a vandoo and some of my cousins in quebec are in the regiment, i know what im talking about, they try not to show it, trust me. and they are stuck up because they are one of the best regiments, and they know that they are good at what they do, its there way of getting back at the english, but no hard feelings my friend.

  • I mean current Vandoos, a lot has changed since ur grand-dad was a vandoo. as for being "one of the best regiments" that's not hard when there's only 3 regular force regiments, so yes, you'll always be top 3 :P

Truth is, The Royal 22e Regiment is last in precedence of Regular Force infantry regiments, and is immediately succeeded by the Governor General's Foot Guards, first in precedence of the Reserve infantry regiments.

  • thats why they think that they are fogoten, they get sent in last, they want to be the first ones there and it really pisses them off, but again its because most of them can only speak french so it only makes sense

  • Wow you really have no idea what you're talking about. I am anglophone only, well I speak German but that doesn't do me any good here. I cant speak French, and the number of people I have met since moving to Quebec last year that cant speak English (in or outside military) is less than 100, far less.

as for being sent in last, they were the regt sent to Haiti. They love getting their Gucci gear as we call it, but they hate even more to use it.

  • @jadger1871 30% canadians speek french 85% speek english. Just wait, in a few year, it will be 50% to 89%.

  • @cripto136 LOL 100 is the whole there is nomore after that....so where are you going to get the extra people in your 50 to 89 ratio. Back to school with you! and where did you get these figures from....im pretty sure it was from your ass!

  • @MrFreedomrequired LOL - some people do speak both!

  • oh, and btw, you cant join up with the Vandoos if you're from Ontario, each reg force regt has a geographic area they draw from, RCR draws from Ontario and the Maritimes, PPCLI out west, and R22R from Quebec and French New Brunswick

  • i know, they can make exceptions, my cousin is serving with the pats and hes from quebec, Major john williams , and it will be a big advantage too because i speak read and write in english and in french, so i hope that they make an exception for me! lets just wait and see haha

  • well he`s an officer, that`s different then, they go wherever they are needed. and being bilingual isn`t that big of an advantage, every officer is required to be bilingual, it is in their RMC training. all being bilingual does is add 2 points to your promotion eligibility (it takes hundreds if not thousands of points before promotion)

  • You can't honestly believe that? The R22eR get all the Gucci kit before everyone else, they get the state of the art buildings before everyone else, they are training to be a "marine" unit when they are not posted near the ocean. I was in 2RCR when they were part of 5CMBG...... we were the forgotten.

  • cheer to the infantry

  • With Britain as the leader and the Australians, Canadians and New Zealanders as the loyal cannon fodder. When distinction is earned it is a British distinction. Countries are determined by natural land borders not by political or phychological borders. The British Empire was a confederation of nations waiting to come out of their shell. The Churchillian act of sending Australians to Gallipolli was the greatest thing that happened to us, but not for the reasons the British might prefer to think.

  • what's the name of the slow march?

  • @xav233 La Czarine written by Louis Ganne

  • thanks

  • 0:26............Les>>"Vandoo's"!

  • Jeez, they have to stand there all day? Those guns aren't light to say the least.

  • Up to 2 hours only.

  • good video, thanks, whats the song called?

  • Marche lorraine is the march.

  • no, thats not it, i jsut checked it out...

  • Are you sure? The very start of the video has Marche Lorraine.

  • yep, notice how once they start marching, at around 0:16 it changes to soemthing else with crazy symbols

  • is it that song tho at around 0:16 tho when the symbols start comming in?

  • Yep, it is, it's just the cymbals are loud. If you follow the link I posted last time you'll hear it's the same melody beneath the cymbals.

  • you can heard the Marche Lorraine, at 0,30''

  • my mistake, a week according to the discription O.o?

  • This is beautiful!

    For Queen and Country!

  • you mean: For King and Country ;)

  • cananda had no choice, the queen is head of state

  • yes we did, you're thinking of world war one, we delcared war a full day after the uk and we had our own government almost all set up by then.

  • i think that only the British and the Dutch are the only people who actually know what we did in that war and are truely thankful for our part in it

  • the canadian soldiers defence hong kong againist the japanese in WWII. to help the british and most of them are under 18, most of them didnt make it back.

  • Comment removed

  • Good video thanks There should be a documentary on the French-Canadian contribution. It was huge and it is sad that the strange politics in Canada, do not celebrate the courage of these brave men and women.

  • We dont do anything like this anymore becuase people would rather be american then have any shread of pride like this.

  • R22R, The Royal French Canadian Regiment
