Oh come on. They "were" a good band??? They are intelligent, creative, forward-looking, and innovative. Every new album is something special in its own right. the guys from the band have finally commented on dirk's departure from the band. Mike sd that he himself was responsible for writing the majority of dirk's bass lines, and that dirk flat out REFUSED to help out with the writing process a majority of the time.

out of respect for their former friend, they claimed it was a mutual break, but it was obvious they wanted him out for a long time. they let enough time pass before they told the truth about dirk, which is respectable.

yeah its a sad story because in all actuality he was incubus, dirk and brandon had differences on what they thought the music should sound like bc dirk had a jass and funk feel for music and they booted him they claim he didnt write his own basslines but if u see his stuff after incubus u know they were full of shit

well FYI Ben CAN play slap, he said so himself in a myspace question, Mikey even said ANYONE can slap, I can and im mainly a guitar player. It's not that hard. And Mikey did write most of Dirks basslines, he never claimed as you so say.

The main reason why he doesn't slap is because Ben feels that if he did he would be taking away Dirks trademark in the band.

Dirk is a good bass player, but he's not going in the same direction that the band is at the moment, Whereas Ben is.

Totally agree with, theflash4490. Besides, people always talk about Dirks slaps. Just because Ben can slap, doesn't mean he has to slap. And the band music doesn't call for that anymore. I honestly think that Ben's a better Bassist/Musician than Dirk
