once i was on a plane with a very old geshe la. i mentioned to him that i am poor in Tibetan language because it is very hard to learn. u know what he said?

"bhu... its not that Tibetan language is hard, its because you didn't put enough effort to learn it."

so i think the problem lies in us and not in Bhodyig.

Thats y. u have to study tibetan indepth..Changing this form is writing means u are going against baby... if your frends doenst understand ... send them to dharamsala for tutor.. ok ..

What this lady is talking about? Before changing a language one should know the details about that language. Without knowing or studying about the tibetan language, how dare she finds herself to change our precious language which has complete characteristics of languages and enriched tranlation of all the words of budhas and bodhisatvas. If the tibetan is difficult, that is not problem of language, that is our tibetan people -learners' problem. If u learn nothing is difficult.

It's true that many Tibetan do not read and write Tibetan well. Many foreign students have the same delema. So my suggestion is if they need this "small Change", let them have it. But only for the beginners, not for all Tibetans. For example "put" it on elementry school books and childrend's stroy books. THIS SMALL CHANGE IS JUST FOR ALL, BUT FOR CHILDREN. This is my view.

Generally, people try to read something which he think is interesting and not whether the language is hard or easy to read. Here is my question to Tenzin Dickyi la. At first, will you read all the books in Tibetan if their words are separated as you think? You will not do this. Therefore,please do not try to mend anything that you haven't enough knowledge of it. First of all, try to make yourself a master in Tibetan language.

It is nice to hear an opinion of Miss Tenzin Dickyi, Dorje Tsering la's strong support and Sonam Gyaltsen la's disagreement. Tenzin Dickyi la's opinion is an immediate problem to a person that has obligation to learn this language and who has no real interest.
