totally agree there, I watched the cocteaus live back in early 90s and was amazed by them - even though Liz couldn't sing all the parts, she interwove (is that right) between them and it was better than listening to the LPs - which is of course in itself not a bad experience. Got to meet Robin an Liz backstage - they were very humble and likeable people as you would imagine - still have my signed Bluebell Knoll and Treasure as pride of place in my collection - happy daze
Looked at profile. Prob my mistake but you must have been very young to see the Cocteau Twins early 90's? Seen them myself 1981 and many times since(over 12). What venue, year was your experience?
@tosh2804 hamburg... aura all around her!!! i was very young! 19/20...was not very many peaple there.. was time of punk rock the cure and dead kennedys... early 80th - one of my favorite concerts ever..(ieye saw a lot those days...)
I think my dad either met or saw her at his work in bond street. LOL, now he has like all of Massive's CDs (not because he like had a crush on her or anything, he just likes them)...
he's probably a big incubus fan or a fan of that style in general. But this massive attack track is dope...nothing beats the original to me. They tapped into something special here... music that touches your soul ya know
This is Liz at her peak. Anyone aged 39+ should listen to this, don't ask me why it just makes sense. Anyone from this era with some musical taste will know why. I rest my case....oh no actually I don't your honour......listen to This mortal coil: strength of strings, can it get any better than this?
Well I'm 43 and also totally agree. Never knew Liz sang this. I have to add that 'Filigree & Shadow' from which 'Strength of Strings' comes (This Mortal Coil) is still one of my BEST loved albums. ANYONE listening and loving Liz's voice here - do yourself a favour and go out and buy F&S on which she sings. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!! I promise!!
Yet another fantastic vocal performance from the GREATEST female singer EVER !!!!!
I am 49 and kmow exactly what you mean. Her voice is perfection. The only other female who comes anywhere close is Annie Lennox, and she is a distant second.
hmm.. Lennox's voice went ages ago - it's painful hearing her these days. The second and third greatest female vocalists must surely be Alison Moyet and Kate Bush... with Dusty close behind....
I have just heard the most beautiful song that Elizabeth Fraser has ever sang. It is called "Take me with you". I am sitting here with tears streaming down my face, it has affected me so much. You mention older people like us having musical taste. If you truly believe that, then you MUST listen to this song. Please post a comment after you listen to it.
Well I may be a mear 29 but I still love this band and I think I have impecable taste in music. Love M.A., been listening to them for nearly 10 years. Great posting.

Thank you! Now I don't feel quite as old as I usually do at 25. :P
I just can't believe that having been a teenager in the 90's it's taken until just recently that I've discovered a love for Trip Hop.
This is just simply amazing. Listening to this at night while it's raining, there could be a million things going on and still the world would seem at peace.
