My favorite amp brands are Randall and Peavey. I've never once been let down by either of them. I gotta say though, I'd always prefered my Randall Warhead to the 5150 I used to own. Sadly, I had to sell my Warhead and my 5150 was stolen... :(

Sure,

The sound is mainly comming from the combo's own speaker even when plugged 4ohms / 100watts with an extenstional 4x12" speaker cabinet.

The cab adds more volume (duh) & more "ooph / rattle"..

It's an awesome combo! Get a G2 though ;)

Im probably going to get bad comments on this, and this dudes playing was awsome but I personally have never heard a Randall sound good without having to use so much crap to clean it up. If it wasnt for Darell, they probably would have sunk years ago.

I kind of agree. I know one guy who had some good tone out of a randall with just a single overdrive pedal, but I've personally never gotten a good sound out of a randall amp. Their cabs, however, are pretty good. I play a Mesa Roadster out of a Randall cab, and it sounds immaculate

Dude, i had ordered the RH150D G3 model head the week it was out for sale.. got it shipped all the way from the states, and it was pure disaster..

I had to convert the voltage and replace the sovtek valve which broke, and when i plugged in.. i cried because it was no way near a G2 series Randall..

G3 series are crap if you use it without its own cabinet and so on.. that why the G3+ PLUS series were released anyway, to cover up the mistake that was released for one whole year.

i normally have the treble and mid turned the whole way up and the bass at 12 o clock on my amp. i play a minarik lotus with both tone knobs the whole way up and i have the stock "tone perfect" pickups. they seem almost as hot as alnico gibsons. they are pretty good

I don't remember the exact settings, but Gain2 in a good mid / contour balanced setting will give you a pretty good tone.

Also try boosting the front and using Gain1.

Yes definately, specially the +D model..

But only if you have room and live in conditions you can play the amp in a proper volume. Otherwise a combo amplifier is always enough for home playing.

Do not stick to a brand or model. It does not have to be a shaped guitar. I sold my Razor and Explorer eventually and found myself with the SG/Viper guitars. Visit a few stores and see what suits you best, like superstrats, lespauls, Sg's, Vee's whatever..

And also, check out used gear, you can get real good second hand guitars for that price.

The guitar i'm playing in this video is way seperate than an overrated 'classic' MX250 II: the fingerboard, pickups, electronics and mine having an Floyd Rose tremolo.

your modern RG amplifier may not be the G2 series, could be the previous models. The G2 has a middle voicing, clean boost, seperate reverbs..etc. added, thats why its called Generation II anyway ;)

when u put it in, put it in backwards so that the hotter coil is facing the high e string

Flipping the pickup will do almost no good. When giving advices, try something like:

"Raise the pickup to a good height."

That will be more help to get out the real tone which lies in your guitar ;)

The SH13 is to trebly for me, i personally favoured the SH6 set (neck/bridge)
