first of all the drincking age and drunck driving are 2 seperate issues and should be treated as such! there are 30 40 even 50 year old men who have gotten into the drivers seat of a car who would b considered over the leagal limit! From a non-American I think it is absolutely ridiculous that you all have to wait until you are 21 until you can purchase/drink alcohol. Here in Europe alcohol is more socially acceptable, and whilst we still have problems related to binge drinking, it is evident that being able to drink at a younger age and alcohol being more socially acceptable is a better thing. I find it quite strange that say for example a 16 year old European can drink alcohol whilst a 20 year old man/woman in USA can't!

Move to Canada, normal drinking age is 18 or 19 depending on the province. Provinces are also adopting a graduated licensing program whereby your interim license forbids you to have any alcohol in your bloodstream while operating a motor vehicle or pleasure craft. Quite frankly I don't care at what age people drink, but if you drink and drive, you should have to go to every mother in your city whose child has been killed by a drunk driver and tell them you drink and drive.

I agree..however realize that (as in the netherlands) when the legal drinking age would be 18, the category you're referring to as underage drinkers, will certainly shift towards a younger segment. We've experienced it hands on here.
I agree with this out look (kinda), because it's never made sense. I would probably suggest they consider raising the age for military service before lowering the drinking age.

I find it baffling that in America a 20 year old is considered mature and responsible enough to get married, get a commercial pilots licence, cast a vote, drive an 18-wheeler or buy an assault riffle, but not considered mature enough to have a cold glass of beer after work.

In Denmark you can drink every alcohol type at the age of 16. Before summer 2004 the age was 15. But in my crap country its still 18..

fjpko, you've posted this same comment in every single video remotely connected to the drinking age. Don't you have anything better to do? And any way, don't you think alcohol being seen as "the important forbidden beverage might have something to do with the poor drinking habits? In Europe, binge drinking isn't as much as a problem because teens drink with their families, it's not seen as something special or a status symbol like it is in the U.S.

Smoking: Same thing.

Murder: the witness gets to murder the murderer? but if he murders the murderer, the witness of the other witness gets to kill him and so on. That makes zero sense.

What if that witness was the victim's friend/family member, and they wanted revenge? The government could allow them to do that if they wanted.
Anyways, I have my reasons why the drinking age should be RAISED to 24. Apparently teens these days misuse substances and do bad things they would not do consciously and willingly.

ok..... but then they should raise driving age to 18, you cant go into the military until you are 20. I am lucky to be an Australian were laws are much better and our country is not fucked up. I dont mean that in an arugent way I mean that in a when bush and friends are in chair the country is fucked up.

Move to Canada, normal drinking age is 18 or 19 depending on the province. Provinces are also adopting a graduated licensing program whereby your interim license forbids you to have any alcohol in your bloodstream while operating a motor vehicle or pleasure craft. Quite frankly I don't care at what age people drink, but if you drink and drive, you should have to go to every mother in your city whose child has been killed by a drunk driver and tell them you drink and drive.

I agree..however realize that (as in the netherlands) when the legal drinking age would be 18, the category you're referring to as underage drinkers, will certainly shift towards a younger segment. We've experienced it hands on here.
