No. I am from louisville and oppose this building. It would be nice to see a big building in louisvilles skyline, I think the money could be better spent. Mayor Abramson should be ashamed for even allowing this to be considered before a new bridge, updating our freeways and revitalizing our inner city. If we just practice better city management rather than awe-ing potential new residents, we would eventually have bigger structures and a bigger downtown.
And I'm not exactly sure how the millions of dollars in liens have been sorted out yet, but there is a concern about a fucking up of public land here, right?
I've been out of Louisville for 3 years now. The thought of coming back to this monstrosity is horrible.
Please don't fall into the inferiority complex that brought us the fountain. more complaints about it being out of place and out of human scale... and thus bad architecture are not being heard enough.
I can't wait to visit Louisville a few years from now when the building is completed... Actually I can't wait till they start doing more construction period.
Anyways, truly exciting seeing a building such as this being built in a American city that is not known for skyscrapers or has much of a global effect. Here's to more architecturally interesting buildings being built in cities such as Little Rock and Milwaukee.
Simply put it, interesting visuals. now about the project, I'm scared to see what happens at a pedestrian scale and level. OMA does great futuristic projects, but the context suffers enormously. The Seattle Library is a monster with no regard to the pedestrian real around it. The lessons learned during the first year of architecture are sacrificed for the big idea, the massing, the wow element. COuld you pay more attention to the city, the context and the pedestrian?
thats not the design they r building is it. I can well b wrong but I thought it looked different. Either way I like the way from a distance it resimbles the twin towers. nice presentation!
I think it looks like an oil rig... and is going to be pretty out of place in the skyline. I dunno, I hate to dump on it, because most people here in Louisville are excited about it.
Its like a weird starchitecture building... without the star architect.
This is a great project for Louisville, Ky. This building will be one of the USA's most unique and recognizable buildings. The animation is amazing as well.
Brilliant movie, what an amazing skill in presentation technique // now it might be a good idea to learn about architecture too... Eventhough it might seem so or is argued by some 'BIG' architecture isn't that empty in meaning as this building is. Or maybe this idea is not so empty as it sames - if that is the case, the presentation method is not as good as it seems. advice: more energy in building, a little less in multimedia.. congrats, it's still veryvery great to look at this vid.
fantastic presentation of an architectural design. i love the mix of modelmaking, 3d drawing, rendering, and real filming. plus good music. the design, however, does not convince me. OMA has done much better, this one seems very uninspired. museum for what, by the way??
the point is to see the building in its context. see how it relates or doesn't relate to the surroundings. plus, it's also meant to razzle and dazzle the judges/critics/city planners of that city. ;-)
Hombre la animación está muy guapa y sobre todo muy bien estructurada no sé si podría decirlo mismo de la prousesta, a mi no me entusiasma pero desde luego un 10 en vuestra manera de presentarla. Está genial
Sweet video of the museuem plaza. It's going to be amazing downtown. For any of you wondering, the building is proposed to be built in Louisville, KY.
you forgot the reflection on the water in the night scene.. othe than that.. its breath taking.... kewl stuff.. need to learn ow to do this kinda stuff.. respect!
Excelent!Who did the animaiton?OMA ?Which programs did they use?How long did it taketo do such an animation?Location of the building?Any information? please...
I love it! Ive been trying to figure out how to present my projects in this sort of medium. I have so many questions and want to learn how to do this. This obviously took a team but what a treat to watch! very nice

The city tends to be into the building, all the movement and its own interrelations among the inhabitants

Has anyone at OMA ever heard of human scale?
The building is just UGLY, looks like an oil drilling platform abandoned on the shores of a river. Where is this?.

Did you spot the Wiener mobile in the video?

Very impressive presentation media. Unfortunately, the presentation mixed media overwhelms the architectural design. Or was that the subject?

It is as if they said, "Hey, how many times and how many different ways can we show how shitty our building is?"
