no, they don't. they're not as important as the gameplay, i'm comparing this to other companies like sony and microsoft who think the graphics matter more than the gameplay and only care how the game looks and don't change the gameplay at all. graphics only matter for glitches, which is why they improved the graphics quite a bit, but graphics don't HAVE to look like ps3 graphics to make a good game.

first of all i said almost. second of all, sony and microsoft arent really about first party games and leave the innovation to the developers... the extent at which graphix dont matter is from ps2 to xbox, n64 to ps1, cuz really those differences arent noticeable in gameplay.

remember super mario 64? everybody loved that game, and it wasn't cuz of the graphics, it was cuz of how fun it was, it's the same thing with the wii, like it's game that's coming out in december which is a newer version of that game, Super Mario Galaxy, that game is gonna be fun because of its gameplay, the graphics will look all right too, i mean, the wii graphics aren't bad, but it's just that the ps3 graphics look better.

wii is selling because it's cheap and practical and yes it is FUN, because as you are saying, gameplay is the key factor. BUT saying that graphics don't matter is utter nonsense - even reggie would say so. and that was a great example, u didnt even explain why it was stupid.

yeah, and that's what this guy doesn't get (this is mrpimp5061 on my original account). Graphics do matter a little, I mean look at Mario Galaxy, they did polish the hell out of the game, but just as a bonus, even though it wasn't one of those "interactive" games where it abuses the Wii Remote, but it actually still delivered in the one area that games should deliver in. Even IGN said that, that's why they gave Mario Galaxy gave of the year.
