  • quienes son el bajista y el baterista?

  • The bend he does near 5:20

  • More great Frisell, my fav. Not sure how Jack Pearson got brought into the comments, but Jack is total monster who is WAY underrecognized in the general scope of things. There's some killer YouTube stuff of Jack out there.

  • James Bond Beatle Blues

  • Maravilhoso!!!

  • argentina is one of the last places on earth were people listen to music in silence. But it's getting worst even there.........................

  • USA is worse

  • Total Modern Blues!!!!! Bill is somewhere between Tom Waits and Charles Ives...and of course Monk

  • Audio sucks! Onley guitar can be heard!

  • Get a new pair of speakers.

  • someone once told me that you can become so proficient at your instrument (and probably steeped in jazz) that you can't play blues anymore (at least not in the traditional sense). this seems true of bill and not true. it kind of sounds like a fate worse than death. in the end, all i know is that this blues smells funny. and i like it.

  • It's country a flavored blues with a few rock licks thrown. There's no jazz stuff even happening. Dude, LA is in the west. You are a dolt!

  • i'm not sure if you're totally j/kin' me or not. a dolt i may be, so i'll totally take the bait and start a youtube-comment-tete-a-tete. don't go misunderstanding me, mister, i meant this: this is a surreal, gritty, postmodern, jazzified blues. bill is a creative and super-imaginative jazzman (repeat: jazzman) hence this warped blues. there is moving machinery here, urban-style (hence LA), but country? not much. (p.s. i was paraphrasing frank zappa: "jazz isn't dead, it just smells funny.")

  • oh, and btw, i'm in LA right now (and you're right, it is totally in the west) and this song is a perfect way to understand having the un-typical blues in this city. in fact, i'm writing a strongly-worded letter to the mayor to have it be made the official Song of LA.

  • haha yeah man

  • About that comment you heard: Listen to a guy named Jack Pearson. I think you'll be pleased.

  • dub10, wow. thank you. i don't know how i've never heard jack pearson before. blew my socks off. i also just quit guitar. there's not much i love more than bluejazz, esp. with a glassslide. i give you a virtual handshake. this guy is the tits, as the kids say.

  • This is the very first time I hear a song from Bill Frisell, and I found him just great! Thanks a lot for sharing!

  • So amazing. Frisell is my favorite!

  • i love how the bassist's expression is always one of just total and utter confusion.

  • Tony just looks like he's having fun to me.

  • me too

  • I love these men!

This bass player is Tony Scherr, he kicked our ass in Budapest (Hungary, Europe) in the group of Joey Baron, that was a great evening!

This drummer (Kenny Wollesen) played a few times here (w. Electric Masada), and he played one of my cymbals!

Frisell is the ''God'', or maybe he is the master of Him :)

  • pure genius :-)

  • i love it!

  • the best

  • Truly an original. Bill's the greatest jazz guitarist since Jim Hall.

  • Thanks for sharing, awesome video !
