What makes the McClaren F1 SOOOOO fast off the line and have such enormous get up and go? I've never seen anything beat the F1 off the line or in the get up and go department. Only in the "top end" challange did it lose to the Bugatti Veyron. But from the get up and go, it is untouchable.

Remember that BMW made the engine for the McLaren F1, and when they make their engines, they usually squeeze as much power out of the designated N/A applications. There would be too much compression on the engine, and it'd probably blow.
well, gordon murray himself noted that the BMW S70/2 would only need to rev to 10,000, to produce 1000hp. But that was never the original design purpose. It only needed bout 750 to beat a veyron's topspeed, and perhalps to accelerate faster than one as well.
and there is the option of engine reinforcement as well.
By the way, skyline engines were only designed for less than 500hp. How'd you think they would get then to 1000, 1500, without blowing ?
that whole rev to 10k to make 1,000HP doesn't make sense, at all. The reason Skylines are making that much power with boost, is because they rebuilt the engine from ground up. @raketenDK Mclaren is tuned out of the factory. There is nothing more you can do to it. Skyline has a 1000HP tuned model. Check the first video on the suggestion column.

Remember that BMW made the engine for the McLaren F1, and when they make their engines, they usually squeeze as much power out of the designated N/A applications. There would be too much compression on the engine, and it'd probably blow.

well, gordon murray himself noted that the BMW S70/2 would only need to rev to 10,000, to produce 1000hp. But that was never the original design purpose. It only needed bout 750 to beat a veyron's topspeed, and perhalps to accelerate faster than one as well.
and there is the option of engine reinforcement as well.
By the way, skyline engines were only designed for less than 500hp. How'd you think they would get then to 1000, 1500, without blowing ?

that whole rev to 10k to make 1,000HP doesn't make sense, at all. The reason Skylines are making that much power with boost, is because they rebuilt the engine from ground up. Do you think you can take a McLaren F1 engine and just slap a turbo on it and everything will be A OK? The McLaren was out loong before there was koeingsegg and the veyron my man.
