  • why was he playing 666 when thats on evil never dies?and is that recording a rerecorded version of the song? it sounded sick either way

  • @TheDeadnightWarior He was re-recording it. It was re-recorded for the Japanese release of An Overdose Of Death

  • Is this...... Kurt Cobain ???

  • Oh wow how come i come across a good video there always has to be someone arguing about some nonsense. Just enjoy the video then gtfo.

  • 2:20 hahahaha Journey is on the background

  • the reason they sound so simple is they have strong punk influences mixed with black and thrash metal but mostly punk u can hear it from there riffs and the drumming that's straight hardcore punk riffing and punk is simple it just mostly chords played very fast but sounds cool and keeps a fast paced rhythm that u can mosh to just look at joel he looks like a punk

  • @DeathMetal6907 Actually the dude from TOXIC HOLOCAUST looks like an eighties GLAM POSER from NEW YORK, but YES VERY MUCH HARDCORE INFLUENCE, with a slight early DEATH METAL vocal styling, but should get rid of the distortion on the vocals, I think it is unneccessary in his genre, just my opinion, HEY at least someone is out there trying to remember a time before NU METAL

  • @spinypigweed actually he looks like a punk rocker since he is influenced by punk rock and he doesn't use distortion on his vocals that is his real voice and they fit his genre fine since it is blackened thrash with punk influences

  • @DeathMetal6907 I am a PUNK rocker so i know what they look like, also I am a musician, sorry, there is distortion on the vox of the first two albums, it's either that or the masters were over compressed. yes I can tell he is influenced by punk, more the crossover thrash/punk era of the eighties, but he doesn't look like a PUNK, I think he has a cross section of influences, not just punk.

  • @spinypigweed he does look like a punk but he is influenced by metal to as u can tell by there genre and punks did have hair like that

  • @DeathMetal6907 Well yea, depending on the region they were from, and what particular SUB genre they were into. Actually I never disrespected TOXIC HOLOCAUST, I actually like the STRIPPED down style of the music. It's kind of the same mentality the RAMONES had, TRIM the FAT OUT! Stick to the POWER CHORDS more bands should do that (and I include my own band in that)

  • @spinypigweed Yea technical musicianship is all well and great but what I discovered over years of playing clubs.....The drunken kids don't really care about that, they want BARR CHORDS and swear words. I began to tone down the band I am in a bit and we discovered a stronger reaction from the crowds GO FIGURE, So I believe that T H is onto something there. Now I did not think that five years ago, I was proven wrong.

  • Old school THRASH was SUPPOSED to be simple....a rebelion against the overproduced, over complicated stuff....to the hardcore thrashers, the over complicated, all dyynamic stuff was (and still is) considered to be FAKE POSER SHIT!!!!!, This guy captures it pretty well for a younger guy, but his vocals need work!!!!

  • @spinypigweed um no u have it wrong thrash was a rebellion against glam metal not over complicated or dynamic stuff look at sadus and coroner there technical or watchtower plus toxic holocaust is blackened thrash with punk influences u can definitely hear the punk in them he uses black metal style vocals

  • @DeathMetal6907 Yes you can hear the PUNK influences, but NO I HAVE IT RIGHT ...when THRASH FIRST came to be....it was a rebellion against EVERYTHING I said (yes, including GLAM METAL) ...CORONER SADUS came later in the THRASH MOVEMENT. You can trace THRASH back to the original BLACK METAL like VENOM, I know I was around at the time, I still have "BLACK METAL" , and AT WAR WITH SATAN on vynil. Also look up early SODOM, early ACCEPT. Early thrash was heavly PUNK influenced

  • @spinypigweed All thrash is punk influenced punk made up thrash along with nwobhm and thrash was only a rebellion against glam and hair metal bands since they hated that type of music and seeing dudes dress like women and if any one really created thrash it would be anvil they where playing thrash before metallica ever was and venom are speed metal if any band who created black metal it would be bathory

  • @DeathMetal6907 : Actually I think Hellhammer created black metal. Hellhammer recorded their 3 demos in 1983 which were pure black freakin metal, Bathory's early demo and first album was in 1984. You are right about Venom though. I don't know why some call them black metal. It's so obvious that they're speed metal!

  • @MetalAttack1986 yeah totally forgot about hellhammer I would say death fiend was a mix between early death metal and black metal

  • @MetalAttack1986 No dude, Venom created black metal in '82 with the album BLACK METAL. Well they created the first of black metal at least.

  • @RockForce131 : yeah, Venom created the First Wave of Black Metal and defined what black metal is, but their musical genre does NOT sound like black metal too me! Their first album is clearly speed metal, and their next album, Black Metal, is thrash metal and speed metal. Hellhammer's music is the first pure sound of black metal. It's the same with Possessed, how they coined the term Death metal, but they were brutal thrash, and Death was had first pure sound of death metal

  • @MetalAttack1986 True, you make a compelling argument, but for what its worth your right.

  • @RockForce131 : thanks. Bathory also kinda defines the pure, true sound of early black metal too.

  • Venom was no way Black Metal at all. Matter or fact most thrash metal had the sound Venom threw out there in the 80's I say Hellhammer sprouted the seed for black metal and Venom came up with the term. And Possessed OWNS Death Metal. "The Seven Churches" to be honest is more Brutal than "Scream Bloody Gore" and as a matter or fact, the Reason Chuck wanted to do what he did is because he got totally inspired by Possessed's "The Seven Churches" Which didn't have much thrash elements in it.

  • @DeathMetal6907 and YES ALL THRASH, from the EARLY punk influened stuff from 1980, all the way through the PROGRESSIVE THRASH, and then evolving into DEATH MEATL and GROOVE METAL (however I will not count NU METAL as it is CRAP in my book) ...all of these were MORTAL enemies with GLAM in the eighties and then with GRUNGE in the nineties.....thankfully, more aggressive music WON, METAL was saved, however PUNk fell into POSER shit, went from SEX PISTOLS, to POISON IDEA...then to BLINK 182? WTF

  • I think a simplistic style is good for any kind of band. I mean, I love stuff like Tech Death, grindcore, Prog metal, but sometimes the simple stuff is more then enough, plus it's just catchy as hell, music shouldn't be over complicated, it's fine, but sometimes a simple style is enough

  • The simplicity of this band amazes me. Yet I still somehow like it.

  • you know whats funny is people thumbed down because they probably didnt read the whole thing... lol

  • Journey in the background :)

  • i play progressive deth metal . but no other music style gets to me like thrash

  • Damn, don't hate them. but, people who say "don't bother listening to thrash." some people don't like them, but love anthrax or old metallica. what you should say is "don't bother commenting if you hate them, they are great thrash" or something along those lines.

  • dont hate on these dudes....i mean the point really is to enjoy the music and if you dont like it then you dont like thrash honestly cus this shit is fuckin sick. oh and people saying they have no variety are fuckin posers....period.

  • This guy's pretty good i mean he's recording the whole thing by himself

  • me????? your the only one on this page that doesnt agree i think its one sided dumass there good but it sounds the same get over it stupid fuck

  • kids? they look like fat old hipsters to me

  • a real fat man, fat thrash metal!

  • i know bands like venom, bathory, onslaught, and discharge are in ur face badass.

but come on at least listen to the old corrosion of conformity like eye for an eye, animosity, or even technocracy.

or the accused, cryptic slaughter, excel, the first suicidal tendencies before they got into the whole cyco shit.

i mean venom, slayer, are cool

but at least exprement with other thrash bands

  • attitude adjustment is also a very cool band and lately i'm digging mx machine a lot :d

going to see toxic tonight :d

  • Wtf! I want that Onslaught jacket!! :O

  • it's just a patch, i have it myself.

  • journey playing in the restaurant. <3

  • continue to play the guitar, becouse you're a terrible bassist man!

  • does anyone know the song hes playing on bass?

  • this was uploaded on my bday ! :)

  • Oh man, fucking hard basslines.

  • who gives a shit, tech-fiend are ya?

    go back to necrofaggist

  • He is the Man...

  • And he's fat

  • i met him monday he isnt fat

  • he's is still a fucking bad ass.

  • But he also gets a lot of hot ass chicks.

  • A kick ass fat man :D

    Fucking awesome!! \m/

  • @Slayerof100 i saw them live the other night and i met joel. he lost a hell of alot of weight. hes like incredebly skinny now. and shorter than i expected

  • @Slayerof100

Real metalheads are fat, that's just standard.

  • not as much as those gay ass pop singers make

  • It depends.

  • probably less than enough to live on

  • What does money matter man ? it should be because you love the music. And alot of musicians have 9-5 jobs on the side to support their families. If you have the passion you will make it work.

  • on the end of the video is a new version of "666"?:O

  • Haha

That version is so much more fucking awesome

    Well...I think so

  • the candy at 0:18 .. my friend & i were speedeating that shit a couple days ago. fucking hurts, dude. X]

  • I know why he does everything on his own. I want to make the same kind of music for years now but I just can't find even one band member for that.

I might just do it like him and do all the shit on my own...if I'd have a bass or drums.

  • i now what you mean

  • Do I hear Journey in the backround...? If so I can't name the song

  • que buen baterista¡¡¡¡¡

  • VALE LA PENA VERLO!!

  • that first riff in the video reminds of Judas Priest Painkiller

  • Now that you said it... It really does :D

  • Incredible for such a minimalist approach. Great new album!

  • metal

  • Where can i find the partition of bass ( at 0:40 )?

  • In my ass

  • only 1... thats joel...

  • actually its just joel grind, and he gets studio musicians

  • Just one, Joel... but in studio and live he invites people from other bands to play

  • Toxic is a full band now. I talked to Joel after the GWAR show in Houston. The other members were his tour musicians for a while but it's now official. Then again, it makes no difference since he's the frontman and everyone goes to him for autographs and shit lol.

  • This is a one man band (Joel Grind)

  • ur both wrong joel grind is the only member he hires musicians.

  • yeah but he doesnt write the drum stuff or anything

  • on previous albums he did EVERYTHING.

  • yes, he does. he writes all of it... but doesn't record the drums. he can play the drums, just can't do some of the double bass and complicated stuff. joel IS toxic holocaust.

  • There's one guy. on the old stuff, he did EVERYTHING. but, this is the first album he recorded with another dude

  • thats awesome, i cant wait for the new record. that bass tone is killer. it fits in so well. and i do enjoy the journey in the background when your in the bar

  • fuck yeah.

  • NUKE THE CROSS

  • MPDS!!

  • Toxic Holocaust is a great band! these guys kick ass!

  • Fuck yeah, seven

  • Six six six!
