It's a good thing he hasn't discovered the section with tube-shaped plastic bags instead of glass jars... we have pickle in tubes, jam in tubes, olives in tubes, beets in tubes, etc. etc.

BTW: the plastic bag tubes are actually a good way to simply wash and reuse glass jars by just fill it with the content of the tubes (you don't waste a glass jar for every pack of pickles you buy!).

And guess that America has some of the worst.. fried stuff fast food and for example lets say strawberrys in sweden is like ZOMFG!!!!!! The answer to why there are so many tubes is that we have a history of camping throughout this decade and that requires light packing and no big jars. We also have relatively small fridges, especially if you live alone. You should also find less cylinder formed stuff due to the same thing. The packages are made to take as little space as possible.

And... you took alot of examples from a single company which is specialized in Swedish kaviar which I imagine you have not seen anywhere else in the world. It's not practical with jars when it comes to liquid based stuff, especially fish based stuff that goes bad unless in a closed metal container. Instead of can = tube.
