  • The best song on the Eurovision Song Contest ever.

  • @DJMartijnKuilema

    I totally agree!

  • What would you even talk about after a performance like this? What would even be left to say? R.I.P. Mimi, never ever forgotten

  • Tank you Mimì .... R.I.P.

  • R.I.P. Mia !... what a wonderful singer, I love listening to your songs always !... God Bless You !...

  • the best Italian entry ever in my opinion!

    RIP dear mia!

  • "Even though"? The uploader doesn't understand music.

  • She's the one! We love you Mia! Forever!!!

  • Its a great song we miss you R.I.P.

You should have win this competition..i will never forget.!

  • Che bella!!! Ci manca troppo!!

  • great song...fantastic actually.

  • One of my all time favorites in Eurovison history. This is just GREAT !!

  • MIMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII DOVE SEIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

  • Mia, what a talent! We would never, ever experience such a fabulous and beautiful actress and powerful singer again in our lives. Bravissimo a 1000 times Mia, forever! I miss you a lot. R.I.P.

  • This year's Italian entry was very good....

  • Italy welcome back!!!!!

  • She totally owns the stage!!!

  • @ozzanothrosko

    so true!

  • she's the First ever.

  • ....of course...the typical topical : now that she is dead...she is " fabulous" "amazing and great"...please...... just cut the bullshit...ok?

  • Best song of that year. Irelands entry was completely bland and soulless compared to this which was sung with raw emotion.

  • @TheGoldStandardBoy 100% right

  • @OstrasDeNoruega Second that!!:-D

  • My all time favorite in Eurovision History! It's amazing!!!:-D

  • this is such a random comparison, but she strikes me as the italian edith piaf! read her story, really sad. i hope she is remembered should italy host the eurovision again, since they are participating this year :)

  • The best song. It should have won. Viva Mia! RIP. Hi from England.

  • fantastic

  • I wish Italy very much welcome back to Eurovision. I have missed them a lot :-)

  • She did not win because this song was too sophisticated

    for a popular music festival.

But in Sanremo Festival this song would win.

  • still the very best ESC song ever, without a doubt. che stupenda canzone!

  • Incredible !

  • wirklich wow!

  • In honour of Mia Martini , in the Sanremo Festival ,

most important music festival in Italy

(event which Eurovision was inspired) they have established

a critics award in the name of Mia Martini.

  • Come ci manchi.

    Gianluca.

  • I forgot to say, this almost beat The Beatles for me!

  • OstrasDeNoruega; I agree!! Everytime I listen to it, I just wanna cry...

  • wow !

    great.

  • For me this is the greatest perfomance and the best song in Eurovision history. The best moment comes about a minute in, when the camera pans round behind her and, for a split second, Mia is silhouetted in the glare of the spotlight - just glorious.

  • Never in Eurovision Song Contest and Music's History would be appeared a better singer than Mia Martini, the singing's Muse.

  • Italy come back !!!!

12 points from Spain ever ...

  • Una delle interpretazioni più intense di sempre. Meravigliosa! We miss you Mia!!

  • myyuit:

I have discovered this singer only recently (my favorites are "Quante volte", "Tesoro, ma è vero", "Mi dicono"), and it has been a joy to listen to her.

I also felt the "person" so vividly behind the "singer", authentic, and different.

She was also beautiful (in more than one way, that some people will never understand; don't bother with those).

You know, each time that I listen to "Quante volte", I wish so much I had met her. I really envy you, for having had that privilege.

  • Veramente questa è una canzone bellissima.

    Italia, perfavore, ritorna a l'Eurovision!!

    Saluti dalla Spagna

  • Well, that explains a good deal, I suppose. What did she succumb to?

  • Christ, I was just giving her a hard time. She isn't the best looking woman, but she is far from hideous. You must have some serious emotional issues to take something like this so seriously? Do you even know her personally or do you just pounce on people that offend your favorite celebrities?

  • The Omega Paradigm: prick

  • very unique voice. i love mia martini xxxxx

  • Beautiful !!!

  • Without a doubt the best eurovision song ever - how she didn't win I will never know. Perhaps this song was too good for Eurovision?

  • AND I LOVE YOU!

  • well fortunately it didn't hehe

  • you cannot seriously compare those two. the greek entry was ok, but nothing above average. while mia just breaks your heart. i'm not italian, but this has to be one of the greatest most soulful entry of all times. it only came in 3rd and was thus totally UNDERrated. greetings from switzerland

  • Tanti auguri, Mimi!

  • the Greek singer seems to clumsily imitate Ofra Haza without succeeding us, and the song is not the masterpiece that you say!!!

Mia Martini was the best to ESC 92 and her song it was very beautiful with wonderful lyrics. Regarding the similarity with Sinead O'connor I believe can be a compliment even if Mimì was unique and inimitable, a singer with an unbelievable career from 1963 to 1995!!!!

  • and what has it to do with her hair?!?!?

  • and why don't you cut your tongue off and shut up before one of the greatest Italian singers ever?!?!

  • what a perfect song!makes me feel sad!too bad she died!

  • BRAVO!!!

  • Exactly three years and three days after the night of this performance, Mia Martini took her own life.

    Such a waste.

  • Totally agree with you!

  • I love this song... just love i.

    It should have won..

    Rest in peace Mia...

    mia forever!

  • Too good to be true....What a wonderful performance and such a moving voice! Lots of aplaus from Amsterdam for Mia and may she rest in peace.

    Best song of ESC forever!!

  • nei nostri cuori per sempre...

  • An outstanding performance from a great superstar!!!! Wow, what a voice!

I agree with some other comments, Eurovision has never been the same without Italy, but then again, Italian music is far too good to appear in todays Eurovision.

  • I totally agree with you.

    Eurovision nowadays sucks

  • beautiful songs italy used to send they should comeback eurovision is not the same without them

  • Fantastic Mia. One of the best Eurovision songs and probably the best performance. Brava Mia Martini! May you rest in peace.

Dire "Tanti auguri" posta proprio male !!!

  • italometz, what the hell are you talking about? Italy pulled out in 1997, long before the eastern european countries started winning. Estonia didn't win until 2001, so how could eastern influence have affected Italy's participation in the contest?

  • This performance actually sent shivers up my spine. It was just incredible and has stayed with me many years after first seeing it. May she rest in peace. I doubt I will ever feel the same way about another Eurovision song...and I am a huge fan.

  • Italy won in 1964 with gigliola cinquetti : non ho l'età ! and several times in top 5

  • how was it possible for this song not to win??? nothing against the winner, but this is so far above eurovision standards!!!

  • I couldnt agree more - this song was by far the best in that contest and maybe much better then any other we have heared over the years.

Poor girl is not with us anymore which is a great shame. She wasnt that good in 77 and it shows how good she had become over the years.

    May she rest in peace!

  • This song is one of the Eurovision greats and miles better than the winning entry from Ireland. Nobody can write songs like the Italians or sing with a passion like the Italians! RIP Mia Martini

  • @kieranxxxx1000 Thank you Kieran for the nice words you spent about Italians and Italian music.Mia Martini really for us was joy, passion and sadness all in one....such a loss!

  • @daxleo68 Che bella la Mia....The most beautiful of all euro songs and so sad to think of her now gone.

  • @kieranxxxx1000 Mia was fantastic but now is not that EVERY Italian, give me a break

  • @lorofcb2

That's exactly why it didn't win, It's above Eurovision.

  • Fantastic, I remember this from the 1992 contest. Mia, I will be your fan forever. You will sing for us in heaven!

  • Goodbye Mia! We miss you...

thank you for your music and your voice, you was an artist...

  • The Italians sing with a passion like nobody else, and this hugely talented woman is a STAR! What a tragic loss to the world of music, RIP Mia

  • I am happy Finland gave 12 points to this simply beautiful, nostalgic song. BRAVO!

  • why did italy withdraw and when

  • because italy was fed up with stollen victory by bad songs from easten europe

  • Wonderful! This should have wan! Oh my god how much I miss Italy in ESC

  • me gusta mucho

  • brividi,emozioni,batticuore...

  • THE BEST SONG EVER PERFORMED AT ESC !

  • hey guys, do you pay attention to lwsmackie's ridiculous and pathetic bs ?

Many people on here know him as an ignorant, illiterate, pathetic & childish idiot

posting his bizarre nonsenses after he got drunk, we know him since long time.

He's the typical stubborn, rude and stupid nationalistic moron who is absolute ignorant in music & cultural matter and who postes mediocre and ordinary rubbish .

You can trust me if I tell you that he's an idiot who comes here drunk.

  • Just read his nick : as far as I remember it was lwsmackie and now he got a new "lwsmackie2" , I suppose they banned him for some of his retarded and junked stupid nationalistic comments ......

No wonder of that, he's such a jackassed idiot !

  • I'm not too sure about the top 3 placing. There's a lot of countries from Eastern-Europe now and they all vote for eachother.

  • "Tanti auguri Mia", i.e. "a lot of greetings" or "best wishes" or "happy birtday".

And the singer replies with "grazie", i.e. thanks

  • Thanks! I've wanted to know that for some time now. :)

  • I see that you're at it again.

  • While I'm not sure about the "cheesy song by Linda Martin" comment (I'm Irish) :-) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Italy come back to the eurovision.

  • i feel the same way . eurovision without italy is not the same.

  • Italy, I miss you so much in Eurovision Song Contest. Please come back to us, where you belong :-)

  • By far the best performance in 1992. This should have won instead of the cheesy song by Linda Martin.

  • Mimì forever!

  • simply timeless. the song and the voice. as far as i can remember this is my favorite eurosong title of all time.

  • This is truly a great performance by a great artist. One of those entries that were simply too good for Eurovision.

  • WAY TOO GOOD!

L'unica maniera per farci conoscere all'estero.

  • Everytime I hear this song, I don't know why I feel better... maybe it's her voice, or maybe the lyrics..

Very sad she died... but always remebered for all!

  • VERDADERO TODO LO QUE TU PIENSA!

  • Wow. Mia sung her heart out. speechless now.....

  • semplicemente una meraviglia! grande e grazie mimì!

  • Mia martini eres increble! ninguna canta con tanto sentimiento como tu! siempre te recordaremos!!

  • ESTOY D'ACUERDO!

  • Great song!! One of the best of 1992! Italia misses such a star.

  • Far, far , far too classy for eurovision. For me one of the finest ESC entries ever - a classic, . RIP Mia

  • Splendido!

  • this is just the ultimate song...pure brilliance, her life story after and the way she died makes it even more touching, excellence.

  • This is one of the best Eurovision songs ever!

The lyrics are just great, as a wonderful poem full of deep meanings.

Grazie mille, Mia! La tua voce è meravigliosa!

I Portghesi vogliono l'Italia di nuovo all'Eurovision! Subito! Lol!

    Auguri da Lisbona!

  • muy bonito....

  • the best performance of esc 1992

  • Tout simplement génial ; grazie mile Italia

  • LOL!

  • My God how i miss Italy in ESC. realy do. Great song/voice Mia.. lovely.

  • One of the best songs and performances ever in the Eurovision Song Contest! What a shame that Mia Martini's not among us any more! Italia we miss you from the E.S.C. ... ( A Greek fan )

  • This is one of the most exceptional songs and performances the Eurovision has hosted. This was class all the way and totally captivating.

  • mimi' sempre li' pronta per darsi completamente....

  • Yes it was the best song in the contest when i look back now, there was 5 or 6 great songs worthy of esc win that year, Ireland, Malta, Italy, Yougoslavia, Austria.

  • Greece for sure!!!!

One of the best entries we have ever sended!!!

    ps:"rapsodia" is great!!

  • The best song I think of 1992 ESC. The lyrics are very sad but so beautiful.

  • she was and still is the best: undoubtedly a signora!

  • She was lovely. Such a moving song.

Her sisiter is also a fantastic singer.

  • I'm glad that many people from abroad appreciate the voice and the class of Mia Martini. She has a dramatic life, but here in Italy she is considered one of the best interpreter of all the times.Thanx evreybody guys.

  • she didn't commit suicide, it was an overdose...blabla bla is already in the wikipedia

  • Actually, Wikipedia reads: "Her career ended tragically in 1995 when she was found dead under mysterious circumstances in her apartment at Cardano al Campo, near Milan. She most likely committed suicide." The reasons for her death remain unknown. Let's remember what a great singer she was.

  • Finland gave 12 points!

  • Great song, great singer. Terry decribed her as a woman with "serious teeth". However, this was a brilliant song. I never forgot it and thanks for giving me the opportunity to hear it again.

  • an absoltutely remarkable performance of a great song...made all the more spine tingling by the fact she committed suicide, amazing!!

  • Mimi jsi božská!

  • no wonder italy left in the end, their entries were so fantastic but they rarely won, it's a shame.

  • One of those songs that really makes me seriously wonder whether the best song EVER wins. This is a truly spine-tingling song, and the performance is indeed so powerful that I was rooted to my seat. But I guess you either love it or hate it - like all the best things. How can the best things, which one person loves and the next hates, compete against the mediocre things which half-heartedly speak to everyone and earn their points?

  • A very good question indeed! "C'est la vie", I guess...

  • A beautiful song, in my mind the best song in that year's contest, sung with a passion reminiscent of Edith Piaf. Mia wrung every drop of emotion out of the song and it was a joy to listen to and watch. It should have won. Her voice is so distinctive and not everyone's cup of tea but it's beautiful to me and she can certainly put a song across. I can't see how it could have possibly been sung any other way. Pure class!

  • Absolutely wonderful. Come on Italy, we need you back in the competition.

  • I've commented on this song before, I just can't appreciate her voice. Not my cup of tea at all I'm afraid, though i'll admit she sings with emotion.

  • bella bella bellisima, pura class as someone said

  • Beautiful.

  • Mia's song is my favourite from ESC 1992. She really deserved to win. Her emotional performance was one of the best of all time. She sang from the heart.

  • I'M AGREE WITH YOU!

  • Unique female voice, that's for sure. Nice song, pretty emotional

  • I would also like to know what happened to her. Her emotional performance indeed rooted me to my seat - such a heartfelt performance I have hardly ever heard in Eurovision. RIP, Mia. One of my favourites from that year, and, frankly, that is saying something. Pure class.

  • Rest In Peace. One of my favourite Eurovision songs of all time.
