Any win over BYU is good, but the bowl wins are even better!! (Also this back in the good old days before sponsors took over the naming rights of the games)

I was 22 then and lived in Colorado Springs. BYU was the pride of the WAC then and the Air Force Academy's biggest rival. I remember watching the evening sports report on the local news just before the game aired. The sports guy went on and on how this game was going to be more proof how the WAC was just as good as the big conferences. He ended it by saying "I predict the Cougars win this game easily". I remember being very drunk and trying to call that jackass at the station after the game
