That's horrible. You let them swim way too young and their feathers wern't oily enough yet. They can easily get chilled and die! Good thing they're perkins which is a hardy breed of duck, otherwise they probably would've died. Plus they're not supposed to be outside till week 3 at least and at week 3 they're supposed to be 80 degrees. And you blame the farm for treating them badly. just because you released them into the wild or whatever doesn't mean you should. Poor ducks.

Part 2: We should blame ourselves for overbreeding and over populating the earth causing huge demands on the worlds protein resources. If there were only 1 billion humans. Then we could farm in an humane way and still meet demand. Spread the word, 1 child for every couple in 1 lifetime.

There are NO excuses for abusing animals. The reasons you have given trying to condone animal cruelty are bloody ridiculous. It's simple if you harm animals in anyway you are scum. Many people are under stress etc but they don't beat animals that can't defend themselves. There are many jobs that don't involve abusing animals.
