  • I find it great how people aren't screaming about how ZOMFGZORZBBQ IT R EVUL like in every other video about spiders. I hope this gets people to go educate themselves and shake off all the sensationalist B-movie bullshit they were raised on.

  • He's like a Vegas showdancer (:

  • A much better love story than Twilight.

  • The most beautiful spider I've ever seen ♥

  • OMG CUTE

  • that was awesome!

  • I've never wanted to tickle a spider before this. =3

  • So he's a booty dancer?

  • id tap that. = kill it :)

  • @mycrickethighlights2 Smiling at the idea of killing. Clearly the mark of a sane, well-adjusted individual.

  • yeah...LIFT THEM LEGS GIR- ...i mean BOY!!

  • Amasing!

  • love it. sexual selection at work: don't matter how outlandish or frivolous, if she likes it, he'll so it.

  • I'm sexy and I know it...

  • That is the single most beautiful thing I've EVER seen. And I mean it.

  • I'm in love with it;D

  • who else is listening to "safety Dance" by Men with hats whilst watching this?

  • BIGGEST ZIT ON PLANET EARTH

    Why?

  • The same scene can be found on many dance floors. Men who try to appear bigger than they are, moving back and forth while waving their arms in the air....And as soon as a female looks at them, they get very excited :)

  • That's wonderfully clear imagery of something so tiny. I never thought I'd ever think of a spider as cute, but these are. Except for the "not tonight, dear, I'll eat you" part. Excellent job.

  • Amazing! What type of spider attacked and ate the male, was that the sexually uninterested female?

  • @hemiforever yep ! Unlike in humans female peacock spiders only have sex once in their live. After that any approaching male becomes a nuisance to them, and sometimes food

  • @Peacockspiderman wow, you say the females only have sex once, but do the males only do it once/do they die after, or do they continue to get busy with other ladies ?

sorry if i seem really stupid, i'm used to tarantulas :p

  • @SpinninTom The males certainly keep courting other females afterwards and there is no reason to assume that they don't succeed again

  • Look mom 6 legs!

  • Amazing subject, just wish the video wouldn't jump around to different shots. Can't take in each scene before it goes onto the next. Makes me kind of dizzy.

  • This must have been very dificult

  • Such a cute little creature!

  • You should upload the "Off The Air" version! The music just fit so well with your spiders, and it made me extremely happy last night when I saw it. Unfortunately, it's nowhere to be found! I'm sure other people would also appreciate it. :D

  • Amazing !

  • spiders transform and start mating!

  • Wow, this is incredible! These spiders are gorgeous and fascinating.

  • All I could think is "GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL"

  • LEMME HOLLA ATCHA LEMME HOLLA ATCHA HOLLA HOLLA HOLLA

  • I'm confused...do the females attack the males if they're not impressed with the performances?

  • @kherichi

That's what I took out of it.

  • @kherichi I have jumping spiders myself. Before I let any mate, I make sure both male and female have eaten, then I'll put another bug by each spider. If they don't eat the bugs, I let them mate. I haven't lost a spider since I started doing this. The females will only attack them if they are hungry for a meal. If the female is not careful, the male will kill her on rare occassions if she turns her back to him to walk away. I have seen this happen twice, reason why I feed both spiders now.

  • naaaaw

  • FUCKING ROBOT SPIDERS MAN

  • I put my hands up in the air sometimes saying ayoh gotta let go....

  • Alpha as FUCK. An entire species in which every male individual is an ALPHA male, and you'd think that would mean that makes them just regular and thus not "alpha," but you'd be WRONG cuz HOT DAMN

  • can spiders see color? how can the females see that tiny spider from so far away, I thought their eye site was poor?

  • @CaliforniaVolante there are many spiders, that can watch good. the masters in that case are the jumping-spiders. they even can focus on things, cause they are able to move their retina forth and back.

  • " You see me looking at that ass, bitch "

  • BITCH LOOK AT THIS SHIT HAVE YOU EVER SEEN ANYTHING SO MUTHA FUCKIN COLORFUL IN YO LIFE!!! LOOK AT ME I NEED TO HOLLA AT YOU WATCH ME DO DA STANKY LEG!!!

  • Nigga that spider kawaii as fuck.

  • 3:05

Now let me show you my TRUE FORM.

  • YEAH, NAH, YOU'RE A CUNT

  • 3:05 TOUCHDOWN!

  • remarkable!

and i disagree with the comment about adding an ambient track - i rather enjoy the sounds of nature in the background, even if they make for choppy transitions!

  • Do they bite?

  • Amazing video! :D

  • I'm watching this on mute with dubstep playing. Needless to say, I'm quite stoned and this is awesome.

  • Fucking bitch....

  • did i just watch two spiders fucking ?

  • [1m29s] secret voyeur fap

  • Jumping spiders are awesome you can hold them and they won't bite you they're amazing.

  • off the air DANCE:DDD

  • One question please - what camera were you using to film this & what mm lens? Thank you.

  • Hi, First saw this on the ABC and it is remarkable. So glad you have it on youtube as I told my friend about it and we have both just really enjoyed watching it. Thank you for taking the time not only to discover this but to film it and share it with us. A job well done and keep up the good work.

  • he tryna get some pussy!

  • 3:05

    SHAZAM!

  • We can dance

    We can dance

    Everybody's takin' the chance

  • We can dance

    We can dance

    Everybody look at your hands

  • someone needs to make a wazzzzzaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap dub right away

  • Awww! I love how the male pedipalps look like little bitty mittens :3

  • Amazing footage! Well done.

By the way, consider playing the same ambient track in the background for all shots. The video would be even smoother when you don't have frequent fades between similar forest sound tracks.

  • @vidarhol I will try and do something like that with my next movies, but want to leave this one as it is, since it was my first movie and I want to leave it in its original state.

  • @vidarhol Screw that, videos are better without music playing in the background. I'd rather hear the forest sounds.

  • @dan428

The "ambient track" is the background noise you hear when nothing else is happening in the scene (i.e. the forest sounds here). Don't confuse it with the musical genre "ambient".

  • @vidarhol i know.. I'm saying I prefer these videos without music.

  • @dan428

That's fair and so do I. I was just confused when you expressed this preference as a reply to a comment that wasn't about adding music.

  • Hey gurl haaay like my white shoes?

  • I love spiders even more now.

  • OMG! it's super cute!

  • I'd fuck it.

  • @EXTREMEANIMALS Can I watch ?

  • @Peacockspiderman You know it baby.

  • @likelovebuglite Another jumping spider that has major cuteness is the Phidippus Putnami. There are a few videos of it on YouTube.

  • You only need to show us 1 male doing the opening of it's flaps, not the other 99 of them. -____-

  • Beta as fuck.

  • The original spider bro

  • erry day I'm shuffling

  • Males are like HEY HEY HEY LETS BONE COME ON COME THE FRICK ON GOD

  • little ballers

  • Glad we don't have to perform a dance which results in us either having sex or being eaten alive.

  • Why? Why? WHY ARE THEY SO SMALL? How come most cute and fancy spiders are the smallest.

  • SPIDER HUG! :3

  • How embarrassing for the spider... if someone filmed me doing my dance before I have sex, I would kill them.

  • Hammer time

  • great video psm...youtube is diluted with bs and this hd nature stuff is refreshing

  • Juzt like our female they will kill uz

  • Off The Air !!!

  • @TheYeyo10 Did you see it there ?

  • They roll!!

  • Amazing! Wich cam and lenses did u use to record it?

  • It's almost cute!

  • "Every day I'm shufflin' "

  • So tiny and colourful

  • I usually have neither a particular love nor disgust of spiders, but these little fellows are positively beautiful.

Thank you so much for this fascinating video!

  • @Seewithclarity Txs for your comment. I know, not all spiders are as beautiful as that, but I hope in time, people will start to develop a more positive attitude towards them.

  • @Peacockspiderman Well, you've done a good job so far of converting me more into someone with that kind of positive attitude, so well done. I just spent a little of my time looking at other spider clips from youtube. I have to agree with one title of a clip I saw, jumping spiders are the "teddy bears of the spider world". By the way, are any peacock spiders found in Victoria?

  • @Seewithclarity I will try to convince you completely, just give me some time. Yes, there are at least two species in Victoria, Maratus volans and Maratus pavonis. I believe the unnamed spider I have shown in "Peacock spider 2" also occurs there, but I have not seen specimens or pictures.

  • @Peacockspiderman Fabulous! Maybe I will be lucky enough to spy one someday, although I am amazed at your ability to find them considering how small they are. I just noticed the name of one of them 'volans', would that have anything to do with flight or flying?

  • @Seewithclarity Yes, volans means "flying". The person who first described this species thought that the flaps on the abdomen were used by this species to fly. He never saw hit himself, but the person who collected the specimen for him reported to have seen it using the flaps to extend its jumps. Now we know that this isn't the case, but it took almost 100 years to debunk this myth. The flaps are definitely not used for flying, just for courtship

  • That. Is the most adorable spider I've ever seen.

  • A peacock and a spider had sex

  • Their eyes look a little like wall-e.

  • Heh, it looks like it has a tiny picture of Gir on it's back ^_^

  • oh my god. these spiders is adorable 8D And they're so TINY.

  • is wonderful...as made me a tear! thanks for sharing!

  • It's so cute i wanna eat it

  • @jerrycodye That's what she said! ... Poor lil guy.

  • "I shall play you the song of my people"

  • Is it Poisonous?

  • These are adorable :D

  • Wonderfull vid!

  • HEY!

    LOOK!

    HEEEEEEYYYY!!!!

    WANNA FUCK?

  • 1:10 "aaahhh jus lemme wipe my eyes here and... Oh,, two got it! ^_^"

  • What do you mean people get arachnophobia? Doesn't make a bit of freakin sense.

  • The jumping spiders in my house are all light/dark gray or black and white.. they're still cute anyway ^^

  • I can tolerate these spiders because they're adorable. I'm terrified of others. ; n ;

  • Excellent work, amazing complexity of nature. Next time anyone sees a spider think before stepping on it, maybe let it outside.

  • SO. DANG. CUTE!

  • that spider is so cool :)

I hate spiders... but hes kinda... cute?

  • @NettieAllTimeLow I know. I have severe arachnophobia, but I saw a gif of what turned out to be an Australian Peacock Jumping Spider playing the bongos. It was so damn cute. <3

  • I tried killing a spider with hairspray once. He didn't die, but now he looks FABULOUS.

  • this is the cutest spider i've seen.... but i'll still squish the hell out of it >:)

  • Their heads remind me of Imperial Probe Droids from Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back.

  • that it literally the gayest insect I have ever seen

  • lovely video and such a darling little critter!

  • This spider is fricken adorable.<3

  • All jumping spiders are so adorable! I can't say know to those eyes staring at me!

  • Never thought I'd say this, but this spider is adorable :D the fan and the waving legs are really endearing as well!

  • Absolutely spectacular! Jumping spiders are by far my favorite - I took some footage of a Phidippus audax and he was absolutely a joy to watch run around and explore. They are indeed very inquisitive and makes me wonder if they have a higher intelligence than we give them credit for

  • I love jumping spiders. They are adorable. These are the prettiest ones I've ever seen. Great footage. :)

  • WE CAN DANCE IF WE WANT TO, WE CAN LEAVE YOUR FRIENDS BEHIND

  • That has to be the cutest damn spider ever. Brings a whole new term to "You're so cute I could eat you all up." from the females' perspective, eh?

  • I have jumping spiders around home (Dubbo) but none match these guys!

  • do the shimmy!

  • interesting video, but the rapid jumps (less than 1 second on quite a few of them) was a little annoying.

  • This is both cute and hilarious at the same time.

  • I normally don't say these words in the same sentence but THAT SPIDER IS SO CUTE!

  • Cute spider! You just made another Aussie aware of them :)

  • I can't believe it..a spider...BEING CUTE?!!

  • It sounds like you have a german/australian accent. :D

  • It's so tiny! And I love the pattern on its back. And the mating dance is hilarious! You shot this so well! I love it!

  • D'aaawww <3

Really cute and adorable. Could see this being used as a funny voice over dub

  • KILL IT WITH LOVE.

  • nope nope nope

  • whose head got itchy too?

  • Goddamn he's so cute!

  • I would have to say that you, @torn80cj, and @terser have some of the most awesome footage of jumping spiders. You all catch such a cute side of spiders that many were once never aware of. I also like that video by @torn80cj that is called "Phidippus Putnami Jumping Spider Being Cute", it seems to be so curious like a kitten. @terser has an awesome one with a bright red jumping spider.

  • A friend of mind, knowing how I love spiders, asked if I'd heard of Peacock Spiders. So here I am, delighted to discover they're Australian and enthralled with the wonderful filming of these gorgeous spiders. Thank you @peacockspiderman !

  • What amazes me most is how still that can be and yet they can move so lightning fast.

    Great footage. I appreciate it.

  • never thought id say a spider is cute..

  • Amazing work. What setup was used for filming (camera/lens)?

  • I was totally expecting salsa music to start when he flashed his back ;;w;;

  • They look so cute and cuddly,i want to make a plush of this spider ;w;

  • A great dance with a happy ending- that 's all we love:) Thank you!

  • Watch yo' back mate!

    Tooo late :(

  • @marcuswilds44 Hi there, nothing in this movie is fake. All filmed with real spiders in their natural environment. Only editing I have done is select the scenes. Sorry to disappoint you there.

  • @marcuswilds44 Haha...what, do you think they're actually puppets or something??

  • @marcuswilds44 Run along beefhead, intelligent people are busy, you know.

  • @marcuswilds44 ??? its a real spider you idiot

  • I find this so cute, i love spiders and arachnids. It's like the males are saying "Hello! I'm right here! Hiiii!" XD its so funny

  • @marcuswilds44 what the hell are you talking about?

  • @marcuswilds44 ure an ignorant human who only knows how to misjudge creatures..

  • @marcuswilds44 figure out how to google something before you claim everything is fake.
