  • 911 ROCKS

  • ITS A GT2. That says it all. Not really a daily driver. Edmund has a bunch of pussies. Throw the stig in there and than we'll talk.

  • mclaren f1 lm !

  • if i win at the lottery,first thing to do,BUY A GT2 !

  • all women drivers :S

  • this is GTRs daddy

  • @felipesoto2010 hell yeah

  • the commentator of this video is an asshole, theres no negative about this car, he just really want to say something crap -.- fken dumbass.

  • watch?v=c1PNlZajtWM

that pretty much sums it up

  • LOL, was funny as hell as he said 'It really gets old" Lol.

  • the red guard missile

  • troll troll troll. pay the toll, or heads will roll.

  • y'all have never driven a big rig. you want a heavy clutch

  • pure porshce power

  • GT2 doesnt handle better than a GT3. Anyone can drive a GT3 around a track and kill it. Drive a GT2 around and track and it will kill you! You have no idea what your talking about if you say the better car is the GT2. The GT2 used to be called "the widow maker" cause everyone who drove it wound up a tree with no head attached to their body. GT3 any day! Have any of you seen the GT3 cup? Tahts why porsche races the GT3 against zr1's, mustangs's, ford gt's, and ferrari 599gtb's. Nuff Said...

  • Only 198 of these 997 GT2 exist in U.S. soil and all of them are completely sold... hehe

  • this guys a fat shit fuck the gt3 the gt2 is the best

  • What a pussy, He said that the car makes him tired. And that it gets Old. Wtf?

  • Did this guy say he rather have a GT3 over a GT2? The GT3 is nothing compared to the GT2. GT2 is more powerful, and handles way better. Why is he complaining about comfort? What did he expect when he was getting into a sports car? The Nissan GT-R is a shit box compared to this car. People say GT-R is cheap, true, but did they ever stop, and think on why its so cheap? Brand, Luxury, Quality of material on the car makes the price. Can you imagine yourself paying 100K+ for a Nissan tho?

  • ..... eh... ok it's not worth it to feed the troll. lol

  • No, the GT3 is not nothing compared to the GT2. It's lighter, more focused, and better to drive.

No, the GT2 does not handle better. It's just more powerful.

  • Its so funny i just saw the 5th Gear review with Jason Plato and i didnt hear the words "High tech military weapon" or "rockets forward with the authority of a bomb blast" even one time!? American culture in a nutshell,, sad really.. And then the narrator complains about sport bucket seats.. in a sportscar?!?! fuckin moron

  • ignoring the other ignorant things you had to say. Your average sports car does not have sport bucket seats... or more closely called racing seats like this GT2. The seats in the GT2 dont recline or adjust the way another seat would in say a Ferrari. That is why he complained. ...moron

  • oh im sorry you must be an american.. and because of that i cant care less about what you say, same goes for this video.. travel and see the world id say.. its the only cure

  • Comment removed

  • 0-60 takes 3.7s

  • very tru Edmond some thime makes mistake

  • I love Porsche gauges....

  • dude whats with the obsession for numbers!?

  • the best arguement for this car is the fact, that it is with something about 7 1/2 min almost as fast as the carrera gt on the nordschleife

  • awesome car! get the gt3rs though if you want a REAL track car. im a ferrari guy though, so its 430 scud all the way.

  • this car is great but if I had the money I'd probably get the turbo or Gt3. However if I had to buy a car to beat on a racetrack I'd get this GT2, not some expensive fragile exotic. The fact is this car is born on a racetrack and it would break you before you break it.

  • I really do appreciate the engineering and speed of the zr1 but I think if i had the money it would be this. for some reason all 911s look like beetles on a computer but they are stunning in real life. above this though, it would be either an f430 or 430 scuderia. if jeremy clarkson can't handle this (and he never even whined about a koenigsegg) and motor trend tells anyone without test driving experience to just not look at it there is no way I can handle it :) who knows i might even prefer gt3

  • lol well put!

  • This is a car!!

    The rest is just transportation.

  • LooL

  • As big og a ZR1 fan that I am (and I'm a HUGE Corvette fan) I'd honestly rather have the GT2

  • good man

  • Im so sorry to admit this but porsche just doesnt look very nice. they are great cars as far as maintenance right?

  • they are the most reliable performance cars in the world

  • and look freakin sexy imo.

everyones opinion is different, and I respect that

  • They are not ugly.. they have presence,

    The 996 was better.

but they cannot match the italians for style..

  • No way Ugly, These lOOK AWSOME IN THE FLESH BEUTIFULL>>> IMO

  • the 996 gt2 did 3.9 and looked better in my opinion. who'd rather have this than a lp560-4 or f430?

  • I would, it could take punishment without falling apart, is faster than both of those and is more discrete

  • I wouldn't take any. I just love the original 993 GT2. No other GT2 has anything like it's hardcore motorsport looks (when on BBS "RS" 3 piece rims) and charisma.

I know the 996 and 997 GT2's are faster but the GT3 and GT3 RS versions of these are just much sharper (and cheaper) drivers tools.

The closer to in relation to Posche's race cars the better for me!

  • I think the numbers that this car puts up just proves how right Porsche got it with the GT3. The numbers are very close and it's 80k less. 0-60 times, top speed, 1/4 mile and braking are only a few seconds off of each other. The GT3 even beats the GT2 on the skidpad. What makes Porsches great cars is their abiltiy to do more with less, and it seems the GT2 goes against that philosophy.

The GT2 is an awesome car but the GT3 is way more bang for the buck.

  • Having said that, I haven't driven the GT2 only the GT3.

  • Sweet you drove the GT3! Tell me, how did the handling feel? Was it very light, medium heavy, were their strong steering forces on the wheel?? I am tuning the FFB (force feedback) on a high-end racing sim and this info is crucial!

  • Who cares, its still a Nissan

  • All those technology in the car, GT2 is still slower on the track compared to the Nissan GTR. WTF!!!

  • it's actually faster than gtr

  • the gt3 is not better suited to an everyday use !!! the gt3 is more violent when overstearing ! the only this is that the gt2 is more powerfull but i definitely think the gt3 is harder to drive! lets not even talk about the gt3 rs :P

  • alekos911 u don't have a clue about what u'r talking about, right? GT3 more violent oversteering?! Harder to drive?! WTF??? Did u ever even thougt about driving a +500 with turbo and rwd? U won't stand a chance. The GT3 is better balanced(gt3rs even better), without turbo and less powerfull. What is that saying to you?...

  • BTW, anyone heard of the ˝Black Widow˝? ;)

  • It is said that driving the gt2 is something between driving the turbo and driving the gt3. It has some racing genes but the gt3 is more extreme.

The gt2 has PSM (which includes ABS, TC and SC. TC and SC can be fully disabled). I think SC makes it more accessible to drive ! gt3 has no SC... The gt3 rs was built for use on tracks mainly. So i consider the gt3 more extreme !

You might want to inform urself better before talking... and btw there is no point in being agressive in ur replies.

    Peace

  • Still don't get it, don't you? 'Extreme' does not mean difficult to handle. 'Extreme' refers to severe weight reduction translated in better handling. The PSM helps a lot, but it does not drive the car itself. Now the best way to keep a car on track and/or road is to 'feel' the car, to get as much feedback as u can from it. This is something that GT3 offers like almost no other street legal car, and definitly electronic systems can't offer u that.

  • かっこいいね~

  • duh.. where do they find these pricks ...

its only a fucking race car..lol.. what the hell do you expect or want... a nice pillow and an auto trans with fag lag shifters ... jaja..

ohh the clucth is hard and you have to shit alot.. 500 plus turbo high rev horses, duh.. why even mention it, its obivious to car nut.. go buy a damm minivan....

shit.. a car like that you dont drive everyday.. just once in a while or for battles. be it show or go.

    anywayz..

    wheres my bank statements at..

  • GT2 a dream car

  • How is a GT3 better suited for daily driving? It has no radio or AC.

  • yes it does....only the GT3RS has no radio or AC.

  • yea if u like cars that sound like vacuum cleaners and have no soul

  • grow up kid

  • I really like the GT-R, still if i had the money i would buy a GT2... some reasons:

    - You cant drift in a GT-R. The GT2 is Real wheel drive and wuth that much power its no problem.

    - When i take a really hot chick out of the club i dont want to have first explain how fast the car is.

    - A porsche gets you more respect on the autobahn and people seeing you will let you through without a second look.

    - Nissans bad reputation in Japan for losing your warranty if you tune the GTR.

  • did he say it gets old driving a gt2? lol.. I dont think Id get bored with it

  • HE said it gets old constantly shifting it.

  • Edmunds Inside Line Results:

    0-60 mph

    Nissan GTR: 3.3s

    997 GT2: 3.9s

    Quarter-mile

    Nissan GTR: 11.6s (121 mph)

    997 GT2: 11.7s (121 mph)

    Slalom:

Nissan GTR: 72.9 mph (surface not ideal)

    997 GT2: 71.6 mph

  • well you see, nissan is LYING about how much power the GTR is putting out, its over 550 hp.

  • So what they have always lied about power. Japanese companies have to lie about the power its making. YTou think the Supra in Japan was really making 280hp running 13.4's stock? They have to lie about their HP.

  • Porsche = Porsche

Nissan = industry cheap and regular vehicles...................

  • Nürburgring-Laptimes, both done by Manufacturer:

    Nissan GTR: 7:29 min

    997 GT2: 7:31 min

  • laptmes done by magazines

    GT-R 7:50min

    GT2 7:32min

    ;-)

  • GT-R 7.29min

    GT2 7.31min

    ;)

  • The GT-R has lost enough track compares vs the GT2 which allows the question in what "stock" factory outfit the 7:29min was driven.. Vairano track Italy GT2 1:15.528min GT-R 1:17.600min driven same day by Alain Prost 4time F1 worldchampion Bedford Autodrom UK GT2 1:23.50min GT-R 1:23.60min Evo magazine UK Autclub speedway (USA) GT2 50.94min GT-R 51.85min Road and Track USA
  • hahaha for the extra 130k it only beats the 3860lb GT-R by 2 1.5 seconds at the most. Those times only prove to me how sick the GT-R really is.

  • Thats not correct. Different Magazines. Sportauto never did a official Supertest-Lap with the GT-R. They did a short warm up. For this 7:50 is awsome.

Laptimes both done by Drivers Republic:

Only 7 Seconds difference. However GT-R with slower Bridgestone tires (Dunlop about 7 sec. faster)

  • "worried about breaking the Porsche" you CANNOT break a Porsche....sorry.

  • no kidding, you dont pay that much to have it break doing what its made for lol!!

  • I wonder if when they do the braking tests, do they push the clutch in to prevent it from stalling?

  • no shit they push in the clutch. What else would you do?

  • Actually, they do not hold in the clutch for optimum braking. taking your foot off the gas but not holding in the clutch is called engine breaking and it slows the car down as well. Combining this with standard breaking allows the car to come to a stop much faster. You obviously have to push in the clutch before you come to a complete stop, though.

  • That is only true when you are trying to slow the car down at a lower rate than the engine can. If you are trying to get the car to a stop as soon as possible then the engine is working against the brakes.

  • yup, what ryaneirich said.

If you've noticed, braking distance is usually determined by the brippy compound of the tires, not the braking force applied to the rotors. This is evident because most cars can lock up their tires without big strong brakes.

  • So is your momma!

  • Is it me or is the video quality shitty?

  • he talks about the seats well i mean common when you get in do you really want to get out? lolz i guess you have to sometime. really im not so sure the gtr is a better car as much is its alot more for the money. i think the porche has a better driving experiance and more potential. but only time will tell

  • what a corny ass program.

  • The car is not built for USA it's built for Europe.

  • What the hell does that mean??? Is this is Europe spec??? How many is porsche selling in North America compared to Europe??? Do you know what you are talking about?

  • i guess what he meant to say was:

    1. In Europe, you can drive this car FAST on the street and with all the BEAUTIFUL curvy roads, you can do justice to the vehicle.

    2. In US, since the roads are flat, boring and straight.. your money is better spend on an American muscle car that can only go straight. Couple that with shit-scared people and ludicrous 40-50 MPH 4-lane roads... this car is useless in America.

  • Not all of America is flat bro!

  • I agree.. but one sentence sums up most things in US: "Efficient, but bland."

  • America is efficient? Ridiculous traffic everywhere with HUGE vehicles is efficient?? I'm sorry but we suck in that department.

  • totally agree 100% lmao "i'm an efficient in my hybrid escalade getting 6 mpg instead of 5!!!! omfg" what a joke

  • yes not to mention overzealous smokeys with laser guns spoiling your fun.

  • this car does 0-60 in 3.5 not 3.9

  • edmund's pussies were afraid to burn the clutch

  • as they are afraid to hurt just about any car . . . I'm surprised they even smoked tires this time.

  • i have an order for one of those!cant wait!

  • why are you lying ?

  • i'm not lying

  • why are you lying again ?

  • why do you think i am lying

  • hahahahah

  • If the GT2 is too hard for your body go drive a Cadillac CTS..

    stupid journalists.

  • Beetle on Steroids (Jeremy said) LMAO

  • retard this car is not made to drive everyday its a weekend fun car. This car doesn't do city's or bumper to bumper traffic this thing was made for tracks and open roads.

  • I was going to buy this car, but my butt gets stuck in the bucket seat.

    Also, the cupholders sucks.

    Ulysses S Amerson

  • so nice

  • These Edmund's guys sound like they were test driving a normal sports car! Trying to drift a GT2 all day will tire almost anyone out. Same goes for any other supercar. These rhetorical complaints should not even be expressed in a video for everyone to see. So misleading. Complaining about the bucket seats.... my goodness

  • Inside, stop with the expensive car reviews. Please give more ~20k car reviews and overviews. Not one viewer is likely to afford any of these cars; cool but pointless.

  • wah sexy drift

  • ppl shouldn't forget that the GT-R isn't yet at it's best (more specs are to come and probably a NISMO) and it will still be a lot cheaper than a GT2. so let it go Porsche fans, Nissan did it with the GT-R, they pwned the super 911's

  • keep the action shots coming, i like the facts while watching it too. Keep it up.

  • The GTR can't go as fast as this car can. The GT2 can hit 215 the GTR can't get over 200. And after 0-60 is over the GTR does not accelerate very fast. German engineering and performance.

  • Ahh, GT2, awesome car! AWESOME. Not the most practical, but who cares?!?!

  • Right on. I have a 997 GT3 RS it is the best Porsche I have ever driven. One of my buddies has a GT2 and he thinks it is better than a Carrera GT. IDK but they are some killer machines!

  • ZR-1 sry haha

  • ZR-2 will smoke 'em

  • i love porches, ferraris, lambos, audis and ect...but after watching many videos of the nissan gtr - i just dont feel the same. these cars are beautiful, but knowing the gtr can beat some (most?) of them, im disappointed in there perfomance - still i will admit that the fastest car ive ever driven was a 300c hemi - and thats not even close to these cars capabilities

  • I'm completely with you. But when it comes to liking a car, it's not all about the horsepower. Sensation, stability, torque, design and the list goes on. I saw TopGear two day ago about the Nissan GTR, I'll tell that he really had changed my mind about it, but I still LOVE the Mercedes CLK63 AMG Black Series even more than the Ferrari 599 ... It's not all about the power ... I Like the GT2 thou

  • really good car but believe me on this porches desiner is the lazyest person in the world because all porches look the same

  • you must be smoking crack yaserarafat suck it hard!

  • Your mom is lazy ass biatch!

  • Porsche 911 GT3 that the best one.

  • I could drift all day in a car like that! But, I still prefer the GT3.

  • you would be lucky to drift in a 1988 ford tuarus dorkaramavitch.

  • Nice wheels.

  • I don't like the look of the rounded front lights.

  • what a beautiful car :D :P
