Nostalgia of course is for the Origin State - the time when there was no "we" when it was oneness, the kingdom of God, nirvana, heaven, whatever you want to call it. Only dimly remembered in ordinary physical (separation based thought) system. So of course trust has to do with all that. And mother.
interesting about trust. I think it depends on the parents sometimes, if they are consistent with what they say to their children, as far as saying one thing and then turning around and saying something different.
