That's why nobody remembers the portuguese with admiration and Holland'74 with full hearts. Better to lose being a sport than winning without honour. I don't think I'll remember this Dutch team too long but with distaste. Maybe the modern Dutch are not as fine good as gentler generations or the past masters, even if they win something by losing national qualities. Hope they don't take Portugal as model, or the Americans/Germans to be rougher and more violent. What a lost that would be, too.
@pendragonU HEY, we're not Flemish! :DD She speaks like most young civilized people around Amsterdam speak. All the TV-presenters speak that way as well. It's not really a dialect. And Rutger has not really an accent, he just speaks in softer tones. And I don't know much about flemish dialects, but in DUTCH there are different tongues in every province (small county) Big cities like Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague have their own accents and ofcourse the rural parts of our country...
@MLFive Thanks, MLFive. I didn't know that. However, why he speaks in softer tones and she in such a rough manner? Is that a generation rift slang? It just makes dutch so much more "German like". I love also how Johan Neeskens speaks it. I just heard him on a TV interview and checked on the web. And those were fine dutch heroes very different to those that were in World Cup '11 final,kicking everybody, like Germany '74 did. Did they think to win that way? The clockwork Oranje still in our hearts
@pendragonU Generation rift, maybe... And winning the World Cup with dirty tricks, well, we got very close this time while other times we were more concerned about playing beautiful football and got nothing. We're not the only team that can play dirty, though. You ever seen Portugal play? Everything is allowed, they screw everyone bigtime. Nasty bastards.
what does Rutger say to the Seagull interupting him at 2:10? Is he just telling it to shut up?

@XLynnXFernoX

One of the few Dutch actors who bloomed in USA and still can speak FLUENTLY Dutch without an American accent..
I am Dutch myself, and whenever I hear a Dutch actor/actress speak Dutch with an American accent.. Yeah.. what can I say XD.. Just awkward.
I REALLY respect this guy... No matter what kind of role, he's always had something that interests me ^^ YAY!
