Those who make comments about his over conducting only have to remember the amazing micromanaging by leonard bernstein and Carlos Kleiber. Young talent that might have something to say may still be young, but are we that jaded that we have forgotten that Bernstein was a young phenom as was Lorin Maazel? God forbid someone enjoys the music and takes a moment to make a smile for the camera. Get over yourselves, and for a fact, I am NOT an armchair conductor!
@fredtracey at least i don't pollute Youtube with silly videos of plant pots and driveways (THEN having the nerve of posting comments about classical music and conductors...) I keep my private life to myself, and I'm sure many people would be happy to see you do the same. You are nopthing more than a parasite in a parasitic world (no wonder you admire Zezin Nene).
Listen to all these arm chair conductors whining away. What have any of you done with your life? When you are appointed conductor of the Philadelphia Orchestra you can do it your way. But that won't be in our life time.
i don't know what is more ridiculous, his atrocious conducting or that funny little look he gives to the camera before starting his 'rehearsal'. the whole scene looks like something out of an amateur fisherman's video who, upon catching a 'big one', smiles gleefully at the camera, and gets all excited at the thought of showing the video to his friends. what a peasant.
I agree.Too much 'conducting' here. The music is getting interrupted by needless micro managing. The only conductor I've ever truly liked is Esa Pekka Salonen, who really just tries to keep out of the way of the music and the musicians as much as possible.Keep things together at the changes of tempi, slightly guide accelerandi and rallentandi. But this ridiculous conducting of the long note in the strings each time is irritating.The note length is easily managed by musicians of this caliber.

@verygrumpyoldman - I guess you don't have anything going on in your life since you've not posted anything, other than illiterate comments of course.

@fredtracey ...says the man who enjoys posting videos of a rainy day in his back garden and 'a day at the beach'. Hilarious. And quite ridiculous.

@phishman58
I don't agree. I think Mahler is supposed to be that way. Deliberately over the top and very intricately detailed.

@HAsaxophone42 Two words are difficult to find in Mr Zezin Nene's performance: 'intricately' and 'detailed'.
