@juresaric1 actually a lot of the time, especially in singles, it is called a game of chess,e because effectively there isn't much between them all physiologically so its a mental battle as to who can stick in the pain the longest, :)

Im pretty sure the average stroke rate for an olympic mens 8+ boat is 41 strokes per minute, there are pieces where they reach 45+, which is crazy because my college crew races at a 32-34 and take high 20's at like a 36-37 strokes per minute.

I was talking about rowing in general. Empacher's winning track record internationally can't be ignored. Look at any major race today and the field is dominated by Empacher. Although, the single has a larger variety of boats in my opinion.

If I had the choice and money to purchase either a Empacher single or a Wintech single, I'd pick a Empacher hands down. It's a very nice quality shell that will have a longer lifetime. But, In the end its all about how and how hard you're going to pull to win

empacher dominated like nike dominates the shoes. is nike that much better of a shoe? heck no! its a name that earned respect and is commercialized. nobody wants some shell thats made from china. even though its a german designed shell. yeah you just said it about how hard your going to pull(and technique might just be pretty important as well)

about empachers, they're good but filippi boats also are very good. 55% of last year winning medals at the olympics came from filippi's. Technique is even more important than the boat you row in.
