I really like seeing the thought process along with a demo battle. I would request, though, that you build the teams in something a bit more intuitive than MS Word. What I mean by that is that it's a little awkward since without visuals of the pokes it's sometimes hard to keep everything in mind. I would suggest using the Pokemon Online teambuilder.

You should try Barrier over HP Bug so you can get more boosts in there and you will be able to take physical hits a lot better.

@Sabin41 wait why would anybody use hustle when Raticate has guts >_>. Its obvious he had guts since he used Facade. The reason to use it over ursaring is because it is faster than a Guts ursaring and over Granbull because it is faster, stronger, has a better usage of Facade, and has priority.

@arrieta96 Yeah my stupidity on Hustle - it's like 6 am here :P I already deleted that comment and reposted before you commented. I still don't think Raticate is a good substitute for an Ursaring or a Granbull, Ursaring actually happens to be faster than a Raticate Guts set due to Quick Feet, it's natural power makes it stronger than Raticate even without Guts. Hustle Banded Priority is the only viable set I see for Raticate if you feel like testing your luck

@Sabin41 I love kangaskhan i just haven't gotten around to making a team with one, yeah my raticate is a guts toxic orb facade set. I like it, and it's a rat. (: Trust me i tried using Ursaring and i just don't like it. I like having the option to use U-turn and such.

@FatalFatalities Fair enough, I still wouldn't use it personally due to it's shallow health, toxic orb damage and entry hazard damage chewing it up, not to mention it has tiny defenses. It really just comes down to choice though, I can see a banded quick attack with Hustle being incredibly devastating, you're testing your luck anyway if you run Raticate. It would have good synergy with sucker punch and u-turn as well.

@Sabin41 I know he's a little defenseless fuck but I get some sort of weird enjoyment in using pokemon that I don't see a lot of people using. Raticate is unloved lol and it was 3 a.m. last night when this battle took place and I was tired and I even forgot who Pwonobi was when I challenged him lol

@Sabin41 yeah with Quick Feet Ursaring is faster, but a Jolly Ursaring(best nature on Quick Feet set) is considerably weaker than a Jolly Raticate.(Ursa's 359 Vs Raticate's 391) Even so Ursaring has a much better movepool(CC and Crunch) and decent bulk to set up an SD against weaker walls. So yeah overall Ursaring is the superior pokemon by far, but Raticate does have some uses.

@arrieta96 I presume you mean Adamant Rat vs Jolly Bear? That much is true, though a Jolly Ursaring is stronger than a Jolly Raticate even with Guts.

@Sabin41 ah no. A jolly Ursaring hits 359 and a jolly Raticate has 261 atk before guts and after the 1.5X boost it has 391 Atk.
