As a kid, I remember them in Addlestone, in surrey. We'd stand on the bridge as they went under in the early sixties. That smell of coal and the noise was beautiful.

this has nothing to do whit progressive thinking, this is keeping good memories ALIVE. NO ONE is able to stand beside a steam locomotive, whitout getting impressed. and you can't scrap all steam locomotives, they are a part of history and there will always be people to maintain and preserve the BEAUTIFUL engines.

Wow, I love the lighting, I was on it, in carriage C, I think I was hanging out of the window at that time trying to capture the sunrise through the steam. Might have succeeded but not entirely sure.
