  • I was able to locate 2 of her LP's! They are in excellent condition, and I hope they arrive from Europe in excellent condition! when that happens I shall transfer them to HQ WAV and upload in a server so all her admirers can keep her work alive for the future. It's unbelievable such an incredible artist is so neglected and largely unknown

  • Magnificent rendition. Without any doubt, Ingeborg is one of the very best in this tremendously difficult piece. However, the greatest rendition comes from Kathleen Battle.

Off-topic: PopoliDiTessaglia, you're a huge fan and collector of Frau Hallstein's gems, so, you're the right person to ask. Do you happen to have her "Vorrei Spiegarvi Oh Dio"?

  • this is the best for me. i love her. Beverly Hoch would have carried the tradition with her in the late 80s had she been managed well. Both Hallstein and Hoch are great.

  • keep coming back to this. the pitch, control, and ease in the coluratura blows my mind every time. charmingly sung, well articularted. masterful.

  • Exquisite rendition. I am so embarrassed. The woman is 75 (born 1936), I'm a musician who adores opera and I never heard her until today. So now I'm off to listen to all videos of her on youtube.

  • @marlyharris Oh, do not be so embarrassed, and just listen and listen to Frau Halltein: you will never be tired of enjoying her huge talent.

    Kind wishes,

    Julien

  • Wonderful job of this most difficult arias. Brava!

  • a matchless Zerbinetta. Her high notes above the staff are beyond perfect. When will we ever have another such soprano?

  • Very, very pretty voice. Charming middle, good attack. The top is a little small, but in no way offensive or overblown like many of todays sopranos. At first listening, I prefer Gruberova (I like that she sounds wordly, and modifies her vowels a bit more to bring breadth of tone into the head voice), but this is excellent singing of the Viennese school. A gem.
