Yeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaa Give me a scan baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Before scanning, I was very impressed with the thumping noise, before I got a scan at some hospital. It's like Koo-Chee ... Koo-Chee ... Koo Chee... Like it's a machine from another world. The sounds are vibrating through your whole body. Thanx for this video. Tijs.

@masteruv It is, they pump air over the scanner to keep the magnets and workings cool.

had my MRI scan today, i am claustrophobic and I was really worried about it. But I have to say it was not as bad as I anticipated. The noise is loud but when you're wearing headphones and have some music on, you can relax a bit and forget about the noise. I chose to put something over my eyes so not to see the helmet on my head, and that helped a lot. The scaner itself is not dark so the feeling of closed space is not that strong. I should not have worried, it wasnt a bad experience after all

I've got an MRI on Thursday. The one at CHEO (Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario) sounds so much worse than this. It's radio doesn't work, and so it's caught between 2 stations and fuzzy. I can't wait. But hey, at least it's 3 hours where I don't have to listen to the doctors talk about how beautiful the insides of my arthritic joints are lol

I HATE MRI Machines AND MRI scans. They are so noisy and annoying. I had a couple of MRI scans done for my seizure disorder and they are NO fun at all. You have to lay still and NOT move at all and you have to put up with those annoying noises.

I had an MRI and i didn't think it was that loud but again i had the earplugs in my ears :).

I liked being in the MRI just shut the outside out and just be with you own thoughts, i daydreamed when i were in the MRI.

Just had scan today. Even with headphones its still very loud!. Cool experience though, kinda tricky keeping head still, you'd think that would be easy but start to feel blood pumping round n stuff. Had to redo the middle scan cause of movement, but in all took about 25 minutes with the repeat. Didn't feel claustrophobic at all, no problems really :)

Had scan today.Never suffered anxiety attack before in my life - until now.This video is great for all the sounds that you hear,but I am not sure what causes the anxiety problem.I thought I might try to nap during this as I was (I thought) pretty relaxed with it all.5 or so minutes in my heart is racing and my breathing is not getting me my oxygen.Made it through without hitting panic button( just) - but sorry folks this sucked ( and I don't really know why)

I was pretty much scared as well. My first attempt to have an MRI done ended with me screaming "Get me out NOW!"- before the engine had even started.

I asked for a tranquilizer the next time and that done, everything went perfectly okay. I was just relaxed and let things happen. I´ve managed three MRIs of the head since then.

So, if you really feel you can´t handle the noise and the claustrophobia-thing without any "help", ask for a tranquilizer.

I had my first MRI two days ago.

The whole experince freighten the crap out of me.

I'm an electrician and now I feel like I know what a electric motor feels like!

It was eight minutes from parking my car to stripping down to my shorts and laying down the bed to be slid in.

I freaked out in the first 1 minute

The guy said to me "don't worry 4 out of 5 people freakout."

My advice for anyone new to MRI scans is to close your eyes before the cage is fastened over your head (assuming it is). That's the worst part of the trapped feeling - seeing it an inch from your face. Just close your eyes once you lay down, breathe deeply and try to relax through the scan. Soothing music - a lot of places will encourage you to bring your own CDs to play through their headphones - helps a lot as well.

I work with MRI scanners and just for everyone here who is scared, you should not have to be scared for a MRI scanner. If you have claustrofobia I can understand that you might be scared of the small space, but there is nothing scary about a MRI

I had this about a year ago, CT (CAT) is not bad at all, MRI is worse because MRI makes much more noise, and anoying buzzes.

Don't be afraid of CT scanners because it only takes some minutes and its better then MRI.

thanks, i rang up today and they said max i will be in 15 minutes and its only up 2 my shoulders im in the machine so i feel somewhat better, exactly how loud is it, ive had this video on full blast on my laptop and had the earphones in all the way through, is it louder or have i just heard it as someone would with ear phones in?

@Januarychic Hi! Don't be afraid! I was very nervous, but there wasn't any problems. It's loud there, but they'll give you some earlaps and so it's okay. They'll move you in and you must wait für a few minutes.. Close your eyes.. Relax.. Nothing will happen.. After that you cann go home and you think when will I have this experiece again.. ;)
