  • Awesome video! Thank you for posting

  • funny how those proud americans forgot to mention wernher von braun......

  • @schablone35

I guess it's an inconvenient truth for the U.S. to admit that an ex-Nazi made much of the moon landing possible.

  • @kiomarv It is indeed. I'm an American, I take a degree of pride in the U.S. landing people on the moon, and I give all the credit in the world for the technological feat putting humans on the moon was. That said, Von Braun's past -not only development of the V-2 for Hitler, but also his knowledge and acquiescence in the use of slave labor for the construction of the rockets - is a mark of shame. The use of the Nazis gives credance to the saying that "the enemy of my enemy is my friend."

  • @schablone35 The truth is that, von braun was only one of about 20,000 engineers working on Apollo.

  • @Polybun That's true, but it is also true that he was one man they couldn't have done it without, at least not within the timeframe of landing a man before the decade was out. Nazi, or no nazi, theres is no getting around the fact that Braun was a genius.

  • @aigg Well said. Truth is the truth, no matter how bitter or awkward. Technologically, the Nazis were at least 50 years ahead of the World in areas, thanks to towering self-belief, total commitment to a certain ideology and, of course, an ability to realize their technological creativity thanks, in great part, to tremendous numbers of expendable and disposable slaves.

Upon such foundations as these, was raised the Space Program - that did, in turn, raise Mankind to the Stars. Like it or not.

  • Simply the greatest engineering ever known to man. Von Braun was also quite an unsung hero of pure genious. Certainly up there with Michealangelo.

  • pure goodness :)
