I was wondering and am very interested to know if this coach is still for sale? Interested in finding out a bit more info. Thx and love that Johnny Cash...he was one of the greats! Dean.
Very well kitted out and reasonable too. I have been looking at dozens at that price that were really bare or worn down. You should get 30k or charge them with assault. Whats the headroom measurement?
Love the 4106. First standard transmission bus I ever drove was a 1964 4106, 8V71 4-speed 38-passenger with rest room. What a great driving bus it was.
The very first 4106 was built in in May 1961 & went to Greyhound. Greyhound owned 1,021 4106's & Trailways owned 595.A total of 3,226 4106's built from May 61 - June 65.The 4106 was the first highway coach to be factory equipped with the Detroit 8V71 engine. The first buses to be factory equipped with the 8V71 were (15) Public Service SDM-5301 Suburbans numbers (R-750-R-764

It got a remarkable 12-14 M.P.G.
Great job, do you still have it? I'm curious if you have any great "lessons learned" tips you'd be willing to pass along to make a future conversion easier. I ran across Jake von Slatt's bus conversion (google it) and it's great and was thinking of doing one of those. Oh, how many MPG does this get? Great job and thanks for posting!
I'd only get one with the original 4-speed stick shift and Detorit Disel. BTW according to a book I have ["The GM Intercity Coaches", Andrew Gold-not the singer!-and B.Brams] the 4106 started in 1964[not sure?].
