  • This video was f****** awesome! from the subject to the music, 10/10 again, no joke. I only disagree with the conclusions, because these laws could be mandatory in the sense that they had to form this way, thus no measuring tape segment. Also their could be multiverses in where there are different laws. I don't understand how you could make a video this great and be a theist? great video none the less, very entertaining.

  • @proofandevidence Thanks for the good compliments anyway. Sorry you don't agree with the conclusion. BTW, again, I dislike labels because that associates one with a groupthink. I don't associate myself with any group. I like to think and conclude on my own. But the closest for me is deist. Certainly not theist.

  • "The universe itself would be a very inhospitable place for life. There would be none"

For our life yes, but tell me; why couldn't there be some other life instead that thrives off whatever alternate conditions you could have? Why could there not be a plasma based life form in the centre of a star for instance? Which would have no chance surviving on Earth because it's too cold.

  • @AceBean27 Anything is possible, but of course I am talking about life as we know it which thrives with the forces proportioned as they are.

  • @stevebee92653 Of course it thrives in the conditions we have, otherwise it wouldn't exsist, that's evolution for you right there. You say the conditions were made to suit us, I say we evolved to suit the conditions., if the conditions were different, something else would have evolved to thrive in the different conditions. Anyhow gravity isn't really a force, it's the warping of space and time around energy which gives the appearance of acceleration when in fact it's just an altered path.

  • @AceBean27 Now we get into reason and philosophy. I would ask why is the universe here instead of nothing? Or why not some other type of universe? The forces involved are at such astounding proportions to each other, and changes of far less that a quadrillionth would entirely change life and the universe itself. Designs of the atom, cells, bio systems,on and on.There is far too much to say that NS and RM made species and us. In my opinion, but not in yours. Neither of us knows for absolute sure.

  • @stevebee92653 It's not about the right answer, it's about the right question. In the end the ultimate question is: is life accidental. a product of chance or not? Anyone who studies the fulfillment of Bible prophesies with an open mind, will learn it is not. This book was written with incredible foreknowledge. And I'm not opening a debate on this. If you want to know, do your research. If not, not..

  • The message of this video is that they do not accept the Weak Anthropic Principle as an answer. The question is then, why not?

  • How did you conclude that?

  • Fair enough question. However the answer is a tautology, and according to your own wishes about the discussion forms I will not waste your time with such answers.

Now would you mind answer my question?

  • The vid has nothing to do with the WAP. And I don't disagree with the notion. So, I don't know how you got your conclusion or why. Or why you would ask. So I do want to know how you came to that conclusion from the vid.

  • Wow, all that informitive video just to come down to another flawed creationist argument...Fine-Tuning.

  • @cowboycoco Flawed because you who knows nothing say it's flawed. Or someone who knows nothing told you. Either one. Take your pick.

  • This argument has been refuted time and time again. It holds no water. I will spare wasting your prescious comment space to do it again. This will be the last comment I post on any of your videos. You will of course tell all your buddies I got scared and ran. I care not. May reason oneday enter your life. Farewell

  • @cowboycoco The most utilized evo--rebut: "This argument has been refuted time and time again." Zero arguments have been refuted at all. But saying it makes it true in the mysterious world of evo.

Don't worry. I won't tell my buddies. I have few that care about this subject anyway. And we are not important enough for anyone to care. Neither is this subject to most. You are safe. Farewell

  • Another great video steve.

  • Thanks Proud!

  • The reason that life as we know it exists in a universe with physical laws capable of supporting it is no more mysterious than than the reason that fish evolved in water rather than on dry land. What would you expect to find in any conceivable universe other than that which is capable of existing in it?

Your failure to wrap your head around the evolutionary processes that created the diversity of life we see today does not make it any less true. Your argument from incredulity is invalid.

  • No it's not an invalid argument. See William Lane Craig dispose of your anthropic principle argument.

  • Dr Craig seems to think that the anthropic principle is only capable of explaining the fine tuning of the universe if the multiverse theory is true. I think he doesn't understand the anthropic principle.

If the universe did not have the laws that it does, and thus failed to produce life, instead producing X, then the universe would appear to be fine tuned for the production of X.

ANY universe can only contain that which can exist in in it, whether there are a billion universes or only one.

  • He understands it, he's just saying that the anthropic principle becomes circular reasoning if this is the only Universe there is, and saying that we should not be suprised that we aren't observing a Universe in which we couldn't exist is not the problem. But we should definitely be surprised to find ourselves observing the amazing Universe in which we can exist!

Atheism and metaphysical naturalism kills curiosity. Nothing has struck me as truer than that, man have I seen it.

  • As an atheist, I can assure you that it doesn't. I consider myself to be an endlessly curious person! The universe is endlessly astonishing, full of beauty and complexity. On that point I am sure we agree.

Curiosity drives me to want to understand all of the wonders that the universe presents me. I've just never run into a phenomenon requiring a supernatural explanation.

I am surprised and amazed by the universe, I just don't see it defying some equally astonishing natural explanations :)

  • If your curioisity has not been diminished by your worldview then you should stop wagging your finger at those who accept the fine-tuning of the Universe as a very good indication of design. You may not see it that way, which is of course fine, but others don't hold the same assumptions or conclusions as you.

  • Curiosity is not just about open mindedness. It is also about eliminating bad ideas. We're all in this together, trying to understand how this universe works, and I hope that others find it helpful to hear another person's interpretation of things.

As for finger wagging, I was only wagging it at the anti-evolution angle in the video. The origin of the universe is open for all kinds of consideration, but people who deny biological evolution are as deluded as flat-earthers and geocentrists.

  • Saying something is so over and over doesn't make it so. Calling people who don't accept evolutionary theory deluded wins you no favours. There's no reason for people to accept a theory which is made up almost entirely of assumptions.

  • Sorry, I didn't realize I was arguing with someone who didn't accept the theory of evolution. I STRONGLY suggest you do some reading on the subject. You don't seem like an unreasonable person, and the evidence for evolution is staggering and requires no assumptions.

I can't give you an education in biology 500 characters at a time.

Best of luck to you, and good night.

  • Lol. I read lots. I bet you never thought of this one... I used to be an evolutionist.

Biology really is not the same as evolution. It's dishonest the way people lump these two things together. Biology = a fascinating science with lots of amazing insights into the natural world. Evolution = speculation conjectured as if it were fact, and has, in fact, with its dogma of junk DNA, thwarted advancements in medical science.

You're right, I am not unreasonable. You need serious faith to believe evo

  • I apologize if this is breaks your off topic rule. I don't understand the agenda of your videos. You say in your profile that you are not religious. I would be surprised to find someone of your intelligence and knowledge believing in the god described in the Bible. Are you a deist? Why is arguing for ID important to you?

  • A reasonable question. If you are really curious, read the first page of my blog at evillusiondotnet.

  • another great one steve. loved the music

  • Thanx!

  • Very informative for a simpleton like me. Thanks for the info. It is absolutely amazing how everything has been designed to work perfectly and a slight modification would destroy it all.

  • Thanks r!

  • Another nice one, Steve. It's amazing how the laws of nature and property of matter just happen to be precisely finetuned for intelligent life to exist. If all was formed from big bang, properties of matter could have been different in an infinite number of ways. Is such fine tunning just a freak coincidence

or is there more to it?

  • Thanks Tiger. An evolutionaut would tell you that we are here aren't we? Which they somehow think allows them to ignore the beyond imaginable odds of things going in the direction that allows for life and intelligence. One in trillions of trillions doesn't impress them one bit. Me, I am impressed.

  • Good video, Steve. You may be interested in reading, if you haven't already, the privileged planet. I've found some of Paul Davies writing, such as the Goldilocks Enigma, really fascinating as well. I've not got round to reading his: "the mind of God" yet, unfortunately. Those who like to employ the anthropic principle in response to every fine-tuning argument tend to greatly underestimate just how amazing the fine-tuning really is! Physics, Cosmology and biology all point to the creative mind.

  • is this gonna be on the test steve? haha

  • i cant take this class i dont have atoms, forces, and stars 101 :(

  • You could take it no credit? haha

  • ok ill audit it haha

  • steve this made me think of something. i believe the world is an illusion because it is seemingly made up of solid matter but the particles that make it up (atoms) are not solid.

  • Sometimes is seems like an illusion. A visit to Alice in Wonderland. So strange.

  • its just a big computer simulation. like a video game. its all made up of energy. the energy is what people call god.

  • yayyyyyyyyy new stevebee vid! haha

  • Anothah 5 stahs!

  • i have a video similar to this steve...not as in depth though it's called the physics of God..

  • great drawing skills at 1.07 steve lol

  • You made me look. I couldn't think of what you were referring to! Another haha

  • steve is a misunderstood artistic genius!

  • Good Job as always.
