When I was 15, a friend to my father gave me a downloaded album which said Dream Theater "Octavarium", and I loved this song, but on the record it was called "Panic Attack", now when I am 20 I tried to find it, but then it was a totally different song! So I began a witchhunt for this song, and I finally found it, thanks to internet! DAMN, I always thought that it was DT and not just the singer all those years and now I found the truth xD

Anyway, this song rules, the melodies are awesome! <3333

Being a fan of explosions in the sky, I like the emotion that can come out of an instrumental section of a song. Not particularily long but in my opinion very well done is the solo in drained. If you have never heard of explosions in the sky look up "your hand in mine"

Sure there is. See pretty much every solo section Dream Theater has ever done, but particularly in "Beyond This Life," there's literally like 4 minutes they could just completely cut out.

Don't get me wrong, I love DT, but their solos are damn boring. I realize that sounds contradictory, but it's not...I love DT's music and composition work but alot of their songs would sound much better if they cut down some of the solo sections.

Its called Instrumental sections. It's guitar and keyboard solo's. Saying they are boring is an opinion. DT's music keeps me interested throughout the song. But I prefer my songs with no singing at all... so this is just me.

He got a bit bizzy under the writingsessions, so Marco wrote most stuff alone, and James didnt wanted to use that becouse he didnt do anything. So they gonna "re-write" the alnum when James gets more time. He never want hes family to suffer, just becouse he wants to write music. So he rather puts the family first, and that steals time for him. Good for them, but bad for the fans!! Haha!!! This year they will release a new album.

Yeah I have heard DT´s new disc will be out next year they are actally wotking on it now! I want to see James solotour for the coming solorelease and maybe get a chance to talk to the master after the show. He solotour in pretty low class so theres a big chance to see him in some bar after the show. I have seen pics from fans with him like this! But maybe he´s new solotour will have more money since the success of EOP. He was actually driving the tourbuss on that tour himself!

Yea, i am glad they are working on it now. I read it over a few weeks back. Again, Summer of 2009 should be the album release and tour. EOP may be the best work from James solo career. his vocals are as good as Images and Words and Awake with a bit of Systematic Chaos mixed in (my top three albums). wonder if the next record DT makes will be that way? and i can't wait for the last steps of the AA suite series of Mikes alcoholism. The last one was amazing and i felt it strong.
