  • I have never seen Karlovic being broken in the first set like that... and Federer was really sharp in this match, he knew he had to bring his A game to defeat Karlovic's serves...

  • ...BBC never have these angles

  • Do ABC have their own exclusive cameras on court?

  • @anayebi2 It doesn't seem like it was the last time, it was the last time. But hopefully he'll make it past the QFs in 2012 and win it all.

  • I'd like to see the haters in the comments beat Karlovic.

  • i like karlovic's serve it looks cool :P

  • Federer is genius

  • Ivo is a cool guy, don't do this guys! Respect the man, he is a pro tennis player in the top 100 after all, think about it, how many tennis r there in the world?!

  • I really like sousou0114ht comment.

  • From the looks of these highlights I think I could beat Karlovic. How were these point chosen? They make Karlovic look pathetic.

  • @nowbellhere yeah, all you have to do is stop him from hitting that 145mph serve

  • @nowbellhere Federer makes a lot of tennis players look pathetic. Nothing new there.

  • Karlovic on 1990s Wimbledon Grass would be insane. He would not get broken.

  • this is pretty funny....... there is no way to play less motivated than that guy :)

  • A 120 mph second serve? Its just not fair

  • Karlovic - Dr.House

  • Karlovic mustve poisoned each of his opponents in each round to get here without a backhand or a proper forehand

  • @JayK1225 Bit harsh. He beat Tsonga and Verdasco that year.

  • OMG how many times did karlovic get returned aced? i think nobody can get as much as him

  • Anyone who plays tennis in sun glasses deserves to get bitch slapped like this.

  • Lol, wtf?

Watch from 0:30, you'll see Roger making 30-30, then he has breakpoint on 15-40 same game??

  • @TheLostGeneral Successful challenge by Karlovic... -.-

  • @TheLostGeneral NBC made an error. It was 15-40 after Fed hit the BH winner.

  • All Karlovic can do is hit a big serve and volley pretty well. If he has to move, he looks like a wooden doll... What a stiffy...

  • I feared the worst coming into this game with Karlovic's serving form.

This was a HUGE victory for tennis.

  • With a guy like karlovic who knows he can't really hang around baseline against likes of Federer- he should really just play super aggressively on opponent serves. He gonna hold most of the time, so he should just attack first chance offerred. Same for any tall guy who can't really move. Just play some lights out aggression on opponent serve. Same for Isner.

  • this is amatch really nice to see live

  • How do you get a return point that many times on Karlovic's serve? Insane

  • lol isner vs karlovic

  • rofl Karlovic got his own style..

only Serve and volley! so fuckin pathetic..

  • @rahmaroma ...Which was the primary tactic of most players back in the day. Not saying it's more effective, but it used to be THE way to go, until guys like Borg and Connors came along, but even they came to the net more than players of today. Karlovic really doesn't have many other options, apart from ripping forehands, which I have seen him do on occasion.

  • @rahmaroma What could you expect from a guy who is 6ft 10? He got to the QF in Wimbledon. That's very impressive!

  • Damn... it feels like im watching Federer vs Roddick

  • 0:25 - 0:45 tutorial how to break Karlovic !!!!

  • Federer looks like a freakin dwarf!!!! Karlovic is MASSIVE!!!!!! Fed is no short guy either.

  • minhinmonterey Karlovic hits a topspin backhand return at :17 and does have a complete game. He just has the most dominant serve in the game to go with it. That's why he made it to number 14 in the world.

  • karlovic stop slicing and start retrieving better! if it wasnt for your serve, you wouldnt even be in the woman's top 500 in the wta tour!

  • Actually karlovic can challenge sampras in grass in 90s. But seems s&v dont work in modern game. New rackets can hit top spin passing shots easily.

  • @Baddieko It works sometimes but not if that's the only thing you hit to approach. You have to mix it up.

  • pretty good "COME ON" by federer, but Hewitt is best.

  • It's quite amazing how Federer renders one of the deadliest serves pretty much useless.

  • fed is such a bitch to play for huge servers.... he beats them in rallies anyway and ther serves get destroyed by great reflex and blocking!

  • federer can be such a bitch against huge servers :D he just fucks their first serves with reflex and blocking xD

  • Karlovic is the most one-dimensional player on tour. All serve, no movement, backhand, strategy. Probably one of the most difficult players to watch on tour.

  • one point won on a groundstroke from karlovic, hahaha.

  • not one point won by karlovic on a groundstroke, hahaha.

  • which racket id karlovich playing ?? :D

  • @Deeennisteeennis It´s a Head

  • @tlonsinkie but its an old one right ?? :D

  • @Deeennisteeennis It´s the Head Flexpoint Instinct. I think it´s an old one!

  • WOAH that guy is tall!!

  • federer's reflex is insane

  • @limbakho imagine how strong federer's wrist is from hitting those backhand flicks againest a serve like Karlovics...

  • this is so fucking pathetic i can't watch it anymore. karlovic gets to this level and can't hit a non-slice backhand????

  • @minhinmonterey karlovic is nothing but serve.

he doesn't have any other skills

  • @minhinmonterey Hahahaha, you're absolutely right, but he prooved that you can make it to the top 15 with just your serve while being aged 30! :D

  • @minhinmonterey shut the fuck up...that's the way he plays...i dont give a fuck if you dont like it...you moron

  • @minhinmonterey He makes up for it on the forehand side^^

  • @minhinmonterey Well slice is a lot easier to hit for his height going high to low....topspin requires going low to high, which at that height is not easy to do consistently. He has improved a lot though from his early career and his big moment defeating Lleyton Hewitt in 1st Round Wimbledon.

  • @minhinmonterey hey, it's grass, it would be smart to slice... (just look at nadal in 08 wimbledon)

  • @minhinmonterey well... he sort of does... several times

  • @minhinmonterey

Steffi Graf was the best woman to ever play tennis and she almost never played anything but slice either...

  • @affenkeks Graf's play is ugly ;)

  • @minhinmonterey yeah i dont understand how they survived by only slicing...

  • @minhinmonterey Or u can look at it as. Wow Karlovic got to this level without a conventional backhand, he must be really good

  • @minhinmonterey: No, he hits one at 2:41 ^^

  • @minhinmonterey He does hit topspin backhands sometimes, they just aren't generally very effective so it makes more sense normally for him to slice it.

  • @minhinmonterey You know what Karlovic said when a reporter said something similar? "I must be a genius to win matches with only one shot!"

  • @minhinmonterey His family was very poor. All he would do was practice serves by himself. He wishes he had a coach to teach him a proper backhand in his youth.

  • @minhinmonterey yeah true i think though that he intended to make federer's shots a little higher so that when he went to volley it would be easier to win the point. still federer beat that tactic lol
