  • thats me at 8.20 girl dancing only girl who with tights on ,god how hot it was

  • thats me at 8.29,,,,8.30 ishhh

  • by the time the cameras went into the casino most of the brilliant dancers had moved on, it was getting too commercialised . if you think this lot is good then you should have seen how the 1st couple of years were . after the casino go into the beachcomber, pure brilliance , for those of us lucky enough to witness the early years, we saw amazing dancers, not taking anything away from the ones in the clip, they're good, just voicing a few very happy memories of how i remember it , ktf , C A L .

  • @smilecal I totally agree with you there. The quality of 'the dance' was lost somewhat as a new step came to the fore circa 76 not as tight as the earlier style, more loose and a little lazy (although the wigan shuffle compensated for those who could do it properly). Had to laugh at some of those steps around 5.40, what was goin on there? looked like an old style rugby league scrum without the ball. To me it seemed like the 'new wave' of punters just tried to do moves without feelin the music

  • @jahvoke What was that, that aint the Casino that i went to,no bowling shirts no loafers,no badges and whats with the hats lol and blokes withe no shirt on,ha ha ha ha.This must be post top of the pops

  • SPEED.............................!!!

  • I purposely stayed away from the camera and lights this night. Who'da thunk this would be all the footage there ever was?

Shaped my clubbin' life, and my affinity with music and drugs. Managed to stop raving at 44.

  • @twister5960 Funny you say that - I did likewise and spent the entire night hiding in a corner away from the cameras and bright lights (which were cracking me up!) I remember thinking that I didn't recognise many of the people dancing and those I did know were just sitting or standing at the edge of the dancefloor totally bemused by it all. Sad that this is one of the only remaining films of the Casino. But in truth it was the worst night I ever had there and I never went back again.

  • I thought it was just us that had stoney faces that night(we didn't go down the saturday previously because of the divs going who wanted to be in the programme) and lo and behold they were filming at the Oldies, check out everyone standing about-not gruntled! If I remember correctly, Mike Walker threatened to turn the tunes off if everyone didn't stop slow clapping because of the lights, they were finally turned off at 4am to much cheering!! Oh happy days-well nites actually!! Keep The Faith!
