This is a Leafcutter Bee (one of the Megachile species) and it's not likely to sting. They are solitary so it's not like a colony where Honeybees have an army to throw at you in order to defend the nest. These have to play it cool, avoid conflict.

This happens so fast! We could just about see that the second bee was carrying a bit of leaf.
