Some of these aren't really shortcuts. For example the green pipe in Peach Beach exists only for better items when you aren't in the 1st position. You will become 2-4 positions worse but therefore you've mostly good items.

NOTE: something that people never point out in these videos: on mushroom bridge if you try the shortcut where you go through the pipe at the beginning of the lap on the 3rd lap a bomb car will come out of that pipe and blow you up a surefire way to score dead last

except for the dk mountain one, that one i thought they put in by accidnet when i found out, especially since the ghost for dk mountain made by nintendo didnt use the shortcut
