was at that game, was proud to be there. and yes, psu football stories are so awesome. even when they dont play their best and still win, the producers of this series make it seem so epic.
Also, I may be biased but Penn State looked better against Minnesota than Ohio State did despite the score. Penn State led 13-0 at halftime while OSU led 7-0 at halftime. Penn State dominated in the cold weather, but didn't score a lot. 28 of Ohio State's points came with superb field position. What OSU's games tell me is that if Clark can limit his mistakes, Penn State should handle Ohio State without much of a problem.
in the Michigan State/Iowa game ... the ref called a helmet to helmet penalty, it was a big hit on the Iowa receiver, but their helmets barely touched ... so the ref called it H2H penalty because their helmets touched ...
Like I said, refs are only humans, but they try their best, so sometimes you get mistakes. I've only seen a handful of games that I actually thought were crooked. One of those games ended up being what had instant replay installed in football and what changed JoePa's mind about instant replay.
There were some bad calls against PSU in that game as well, but I'm not going to complain (like holding negating a Green TD), but I'm not going to complain, because I know they're not perfect.
on the 4th, GOAL stop ... look at Penn State's player #1, who assisted with the tackle stoppage ... he face masked the Minnesota runner ... watch from 6:30-6:34 and you will see him commit the penalty ... i don't know why the refferees didn't see that, but its' proof from what the replay shows ... im not a Penn State hater, infact i actually like Penn State ... there my second favorite team .... first ofcourse is Michigan ... im just saying that it should of been a automatic 1st down, goal
The new facemask rule is that facemask penalties have to be blatant, the five yard inadvertent facemask is gone in all forms, only leaving the personal foul for vicious facemasks. However, under the old rules that probably would have been a five yeard facemask. Anyways, I know what you're saying, but even if it would have been a twisting, rough facemask tackle, refs are only human. I could name some calls that didn't go Penn State's way, like a second and goal holding at the 2 yard line.
i was at this game and our seats were right between the 10 and 20 yard line where the defense had the goal line stand which preserved the shutout. fucken great game and it's even better because we beat the piss outta michigan at the big house yesterday.
God I love the penn state football story. They're all so well done, high quality, and u can watch em' all week leading up to the next game. Do any other major teams have a sunday recap program of this caliber? Keep posting em!
