It was a Dale Hunter hit that started the whole thing. Man what a dirty player he was. And just to show that I'm fair, I want to hate Scott Stevens too for the hit that ended Lindros' career but I can't. It was a clean hit. Hunter was a dirty MF though. Loved to hate him.

I'm 37 and grew up with the flyers in the Patrick division. I can remember the flyers caps game that set the penalty record for a game, over 200 min!! It was the last time there was ever a true bench clear before they put the $20000 fine in place for a bench clear. What idiots, that's what made hockey fun!!! God I miss those.

*Sigh* I do miss those Patrick Division wars with the Rags, Philthy, Sh!ttsburgh, the Isles and New Jersey. The Caps were super tough back then.

@mynameisbob3 I've been a Caps fan since '87 or '88 (I was only nine or ten). I remember that Gartner and Murphy were traded for Dino Cicerelli(sp) and a D-man from the North Stars. Peter Bondra will always be my favorite Capital since he was the poster child of the franchise when I was a teenager. Don't use rhetoric that those bums in Pithesburghe. Their franchise has a bigger wagon. The Flyers only made it to the Cup Finals in 2010 b/c they didn't face Pithesburghe. Yes I spell the city wrong.

Al Iafrate is my 1st cousin and we used to live next door to each other and I remember him giving me a trophy when I was 9. He gave me a bunch of hockey magazines and I have been hooked on hockey since.
