  • Great sounding Duff. I have a 2004 Duff F-5 custom and a 1996 Gilchrist F5 Fern. both are x-bracing and killer. I am the orginial owner of both which means I paid 3500 for the Duff and 6500 for the Gil. What did Paul orginially get for this 86?

  • This Duff and the Km 1000 are the to keepers. Great sounding mandolins. The others are ok.

  • @bluegrasssingingman

I think the LaPlant's sound pretty good. There isn't much of a difference in them and the Duff. The Duff is a little more smooth, probably due to the wood.

  • @JeanClaudeVanHam The Duff and KM 1000 has a Ebony finger broad. The LA Plant no doubt has a Rosewood. Ebony plays a lot smoother, and a faster action.

  • @bluegrasssingingman Sound wise The Duff and KM-1000 blows the LA Plant away. The KM- 1000 Can't touch the Duff.

  • Great Duff mandolin and a fine player. I enjoyed it very much!

  • great job and sound from that mando!

  • Nice picking!! And that is a great sounding mandolin

I had no idea Paul Duff was making mandolins way back in 1986 -- I met him a couple you years ago and played one of his new 2006 Duffs and it was an incredible mandolin also I really did not want to put it down!

  • nice sounding mando man!

  • and then Blackberry Blossom.

  • That is Awesome.

  • That Duff is great. Nice even tone on your picking too. Great job.
