When the head is in gimbal mode, does the ball rotate at all or is it totally locked down? If so, how do you get the vertical movement? If I wanted to put the ball at 90 degrees, like gimbal, but take shots of the sky will it lock down solid or rotate loose on the ball's axis?
Yes, it will lock down in any position.
